Default I need your prayers again

Its so good to be back home again. I have not been around for about a week. I hesitated to post this because I don't want to scare anyone about having gastric bypass because I would do it again if I had too.
Let me tell you about my complication and I ask for your prayers.

Last Sunday I started having very bad pain in my abdomen and starting having nausea. The pain got worse and I went to the ER. After seeing the doctor and explaining what was going on the admitted me. The blood work showed that my liver enzymes were very very high. They decide that I needed test to see what was going on. The doctor that did my gastric bypass has retired so they called another of his associates to see me. One of the many doctors that I saw. Remember I am over three years out and have had no problems at all except for pancretitus early out from surgery. I also had GI doctors. They did a cat scan and found some type of blockage in my left Lower intestines and something around the liver area. They had me on drip and clear liquids... my enzymes did come down some but were still very high. They decide that i needed a scope to see what was going on. They told me that the didn't think that it would do much good because they could not get to the area because of the bypass but they wanted to try... well of course it didn't work... they said that the blockage was in the liver duct.... scared me when that said it could be a tumor but was maybe just blockage and could be taken care of with scope.Thing is they don't have the scope to reach it here in Ms. so they are sending me to Ochsners Hospital in New Orleans, La. This is a famous hospital around here. They also think I could have ulcers in the remnant stomach. They also have the equipment to check that out. They have to go into it to see. The blockage on the left side has resolved. Never will know what that was I guess.
Doc please let me know what you think about all this. I will admit I am scared and worried. I need all your prayers.
Has anyone heard of something like this?
They let me come home yesterday after 5 days in the hospital on liquids and only let me have one meal before i left to see if i could eat "real" food again. Boy was it good... lol They almost starved me to death. Would you believe i gained wt. They pumped me full of IVs and antibiotics from the start. I hope that will go away soon.
I don't want to scare anyone from having the surgery. I DO NOT regret having the surgery and would do it again. From what i hear this is rare. They did tell me that my pouch is good and when they did the swallow test it all worked well. This is not from the R N Y but because of it they cant get a scope down far enough to get to the liver duct. Well not around here anyway. I am just glad they can do it in New Orleans. I am waiting on a call from they for appointment to go.
I know this is long but I just needed to get it out.
Hope all of you are well. I missed checking in on my family.
Love to all, Dixie...

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Dixie, I am so sorry that you are going through this and can understand that you are scared. I'm so glad that they are sending you to a place that specializes in the care that you need. Do you have any ideal when you'll be going?

I also understand all too well you being hesitant to share about it and worrying others about the surgery. Even with the complications (which are rare) I too do not regret having the surgery. I'm so glad that you shared what you've been going through so we can uplift you in prayer. We love and care about you Dixie so please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Big warm hugs from afar.

Thanks my sisters. It is so good to have a place to come to where you can just pour your heart out and know that someone will understand and offer support and prayer. You all mean so much to me. God Bless

Dixie, I hope they're able to resolve this soon and that it's an easily fixable blockage.

My surgery date is Tuesday. I understand being hesitant to post about complications, but those of us who haven't had surgery yet need to hear about this stuff too.

My sister had RNY almost 2 years ago - she had some pretty serious complications, but like you, states that despite the complications, she'd do it again in a heart beat!! She's lost 190 pounds and looks great! My sister's journey was fresh in my mind when I made the decision to have this surgery - but ANY surgery has risks and potential complications - and I'm still really glad that my surgery date is Tuesday
