Default okay...2nd day on just protein shakes..I'm ready to roast the Chihuahuas

Hey,

I have always read about your 5 day pouch resets...which I am just assuming you all just did protein drinks for 5 days. I am on my second day and my sweet little Chihuahua's are starting to look like those little Looney Tune Cartoons where they are just walking drum sticks and I am a VEGETARIAN!!!!

Am I doing this wrong? Because I don't think I am going to make it any longer. I had thoughts of doing this for 5 days but that ain't gonna happen! I'll be licking the walls by then.

I am doing Bariatric Advantage Protein Shake with 1/2 a banana, skim milk and crushed ice and I put it in a blender. It is yummy and all but it isn't stickin' to these ribs!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Don't eat the dogs!! I have a chihuahua that would start a grease fire, she's a chunk!! I think you're too early for a reset (MHO). I think you're body is wanting to eat...you're still new to this and don't want to go into starvation mode as you're more active than you had been. I can see your frustration, however. I've been at 191 for about 3 weeks, and it's tempting to go to extremes to get the numbers moving again. If you need to eat more protein, try a CAT!! LOL

Hey there, I haven't done the reset but from what I've read its not 5 days of shakes. It's a day per stage. Clear, liquid, purred, soft, reg. Maybe that would save the pups!!

Thank goodness! I thought I was going to d.i.e! Well, I am breaking down anyway...My husband took me for a walk and I am making dinner...something Mexican...and not my beloved Chi's! Something with lots of flavor and protein loving cheese and beans! Ahhhh. I am going to enjoy it immensly.

I was wondering how you all do it. Thank goodness because it would be pretty embarassing with me licking everything in the house.

Noooooo not the dogs!! LOL

Yeah I agree with Leslee, I think it's too early for you to be doing a reset and I also think you may want to think about upping your calories just a little bit or if you are like me and eat the same thing most every day switch it up a bit. My trainer suggested that to me last week and I lost 3 pounds, I guess having cottage cheese and blueberries for the last 4 months wasn't what my body wanted all the time!
Good luck, enjoy that meal tonight and let us know how it's going in a few days.

NO. It is something that is called "5 day pouch test", abbreviated as 5DPT, which you SHOULD NOT attempt now, no matter what.
Reasons.
1) This is for someone who is AT LEAST a year out, and AT GOAL, has strayed from the pouch rules and overloading with carbs.
2) Looking for a *quick fix* to end your stall is your OLD DIET MENTALITY. Weight loss surgery is a program to totally reprogram your eating habits and your relatioship with food. This means a complete changeover which takes time.
3) Your body NEEDS reprive from the rapid weight loss from time to time. It NEEDS to catch up the other aspects of your body--all the functions that get disrupted due to the rapid weight loss. If you do not allow your body this *periodic rest* from shedding the lbs, you could even harm your health.

Keep in mind, it's when the scale stalls that the inches/body sizes fly. NEVER EVER make the scale the ONLY measure of your success. The measure of your success should be 1) how much better your health is, 2) how much better the quality of your life is, 3) how much better your clothes fit, and then, last, what your scale says.

There are threads on 5DPT in the Weight Loss Surgery Graduates section, which is the corner for those who are over a year out, and their weight has stabilised, even if they are not quite at initial goal weight.
Never assume that this is that or this, never ever do something without researching and finding out what that something is, first, especially if it concerns your surgery and health.

Don't shortchange yourself, don't shortchage the program you wer assigned by your surgeon and his staff.
I can understand the frustration of all the stalls you have gone through, and will go through in the future, but, if you cannot stick to your surgeon's program at this stage, and trust that everything will be fine in the end, then, it means that you are not trusting yourself, and you are not trusting your surgeon.
TRUST YOURSELF THAT YOU CAN STICK TO THE PROGRAM YOU SIGNED UP FOR!!! This is the most improtant thing for you right now.

I got it...thanks. I must have had calorie deprivation to the brain! I ate dinner and it was the best dinner I ever ate! Breakfast in the morning! Won't do that again...even if I need to a year from now! Blah!

I'm glad you're ditching the reset and saving the lives of 2 innocent pups!

What a great post. I was afraid I was going to have to call out Chihuahua Rescue! It sounds like you are back on track now. Take a deep breath. You're going to be fine.
