| I just can't let go....
I'm doing great. I'm feeling good. I've lost a bunch of weight. I've gone from a 24/26 to a 14W. I'm thrifty about purchasing new clothes. I've received a lot of hand-me-downs from my mom who has lost weight. But the thing is, I have a closet full of "fat" clothes and I can't bring myself to get rid of them. I won't wear them. I look silly. I can't believe how much smaller my shoulders are now that I have lost weight. This part truly amazes me. I just don't know what my problem is. Has anyone else had this problem? I know that I am going to be successful and I have no need for these clothes any more. I know it!!! So, what is my problem?! Oh my goodness...I can see it now, I'll end up on the next episode of hoarders. "The girls who couldn't ditch her fat clothes". EEEEEEK! Help!

LOL I'll be watching for the show.
You are normal, most of us hung on to our fat clothes for a time (in fact I still have sizes 10, 8 and 6 in the closet). It takes time for your to really believe that the weight isn't going to come back. Do hang on to one item so you can try it on occasionally and see how far you've come.

This is from my last experience when I lost 134 pounds on my own then gained it back. I held on to the stretchy fat clothes then as my weight began to climb I found my self slowly putting regular clothes aside and reaching for those more comfortable bigger clothes. I learned my lesson though. Get rid of it all so if you see your skinny clothes starting to get snug you'll have no bigger clothes to fall back on and it will cause you to be alert if your body begins to change and go north. Just a suggestion, but that's definitely what I intend to do....good luck.

I did it in phases. I would do it a few bags at a time. Take it slow or find someone who needs them. That always made me feel better to give them to someone who appreciates them.

I have a basket in my closet full of clothes. I wear some of my shirts and it drives my girls crazy.(because they're soooo loose). I'm having trouble buying clothes. I don't want to waste the money on things that won't fit me in a few months. So I'm baggy pants and shirts and such.(droopy panties too. lol) I need to go to goodwill and st vinnies to try and find some clothes and leave the fat ones behind.

I had to get rid of the 22/20/18's because of space issues, and I have plenty of friends and workmates who have taken them. I've felt badly asking them if they need them as I lose weight but it's not out of spite- I had things I've not had long. I'm now solidly in a 14 pant and have probably 10 pairs of pant that need to go. NOW I'm thinking maybe I should keep these around just in case. You're abnormally normal

| I had a horrible time getting rid of my clothes. They were pretty nice; a lot of work outfits.. that I paid big bucks for...but I just couldn't store them, no room. Well I could put them in the attic but ..why? I guess having them were a comfort incase I needed them..I have never kept the weight off with ordinary diets; regain scares me a lot. I tried selling on EBAY..what a waste of time and it cost me money. So They went to the Thrift Shop. I now have jeans that need a good home, can't give them away. Worn...10? times.??? I try to buy on sale/clearance. I aim to pay $10. per item. But now and then I come across a pair of pants that fit so well I pay more. I feel for you.

My first bag of clothes was so hard for me! I finally called my cousin who does home parties and asked if she could use some dress clothes. She was more than thrilled to take them and still sends me thank you notes on facebook everytime she wears some of them. While I hated to see of them go...I feel so much better knowing that someone is able to use them and appreciates being thought of.

I had no problem getting the fat clothes out of my closet and drawers. Once something was too big, out it went. It gave me a wonderful sense of accomplishment, not to mention that I had faith in myself that I was not go to do anything that would make me need those big clothes again! I did save one pair of pants and a dress that I had worn to a wedding just before my surgery. Just to compare, never to wear!!!!!
