| Feeling weepy today...
no particular reason why - just very emotional! I just had a brief conversation with the coordinator at my surgeon's office - she was checking on me - and found myself near tears when she was telling me how angry my surgeon was with the EMT who wouldn't bring me to that hospital - feeling guilty that I didn't push harder to MAKE them take me there, but also feeling really grateful that he was upset with them... While at MGH, I was feeling guilty that I was there and not at the hospital where I had my surgery - but also feeling sad because I felt like I was just a chart with the seemingly endless stream of doctors that came through my room but seemed to look right through me rather than see me - know what I mean?
I have tears streaming down my face right now for NO reason!! guess I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed!
My DH just called to check on me, he hasn't been gone long - and it's amazing to me that he called me - I'm so not used to being 'catered' to or 'taken care of' - I'm the caregiver!!! so, more tears for this too....
I know I'm going to be a big ball of emotional goo at the surgeon's office tomorrow! and I'm embarrassed by that too... I really need to get a grip!!!
I teach part time in the evenings - I couldn't teach my class last Thursday night (obviously) and fully plan to be in class this week, but that has me feeling overwhelmed too - I even tried to find someone to teach the class (I'd pay them) but haven't been able to find anyone to cover it, and it's not fair of me to NOT be there 2 weeks in a row - especially with a 6 week class.
I'm a very 'strong' person generally, but feel like a MAJOR wimp right now and it's messing with my head!

Awww, Everyone gets to get a big ball of goo sometimes. This is a very emotional time. What you chose to do is very life changing! And you are taking control of your life now and there are lots of emotions going through you. My hub took off 3 weeks to take care of me and I am usually the one taking care of him so I totally know what you are saying. But it was wonderful to find out that he can so take care of me. And you shouldn't be surprised that your hub is taking care of you or checking on you...he loves you! Let him take care of you. You have ouchies! This is life changing...messes with your head...changes your body. Gives you a whole new life. Longer life!
Get on here and cry. I don't think I have cried so much in the last few weeks as I have in years! Things touch me...I don't know why!
Hang in there. It will work out. Try again to have someone take your class. And try again before you have to go. It isn't too late until you are standing in front of the class. It only isn't fair to the class if it is empty. You are dedicated but you also have a life and have to take care of that life..you know?
Hang in there. Take care of yourself.

Oh, I went thru that when I came home from the hospital. I would cry sometimes and not even be sure what it was I was crying about. I think part of it is the meds, part the pain, and part our bodies healing and adapting to the major change we made. Just know this will pass and each day will be a little better than the last.

It's OK to cry. Let it out! Part of this may be due to the hormones that are released from the fat you are losing. Let everyone take care of you. You deserve it. You will be back to normal (a new normal) soon. Hugs!

| Hope you are feeling better. Try getting a new hat! But ifyou are still struggling check in with your GP... maybe you need a few hours to chat with a counselor or a short stint on an Rx? Listen to your body ok?

Listen to your body ok? | I have an antidepressant - but need to talk to the surgeon tomorrow about how I'm supposed to be taking that - was taking it orally during my first stint in the hospital with sips of water, but the nurse told me to crush it and take it with apple sauce at home - but apple sauce isn't on my stage 3 list... and didn't have it at all during the 2nd hospital stay.
I'm the only one in the family that doesn't have an individual therapist - we have a family therapist, but it might be time to find one of my own.

Gee, Tricia....I can't imagine why you'd be emotional. You just had major surgery>a life changing experience, a very scary complication, drama within a new facility and you can't fulfill some of your teaching obligations. Hm, I want to cry also Give yourself a break and realize the position you're in at the moment lends itself to some emotions. We can only take so much, then let the tears fly!! No reason to be embarrassed or worry about what the doc thinks at your appointment. It's not likely that you're the first patient he's seen that way . Oh, and the ambulance likely had a reason for the place they took you...as ambulances move around the city they sort of cover for each other's territory. So, it they needed coverage where they took you, that's sort of where you end up. Makes life a bit inconvenient at times. Take care and I'm glad you're home!!

Aw (((HUGS))) Sounds like it's time for you to *do* a good cry and purge your soul.
Don't worry, don't feel guilty about your surgeon's appt tomorrow, you'll be fine.

| I think our surgeries may affect the effectiveness of Rx s at times... so check out your type maybe with your pharmacist. If you cant do applesauce maybe there is another way to take it? I take a small, wonderful, pink pill every a.m. It has made a big difference in my life. Like others have said you are going through so many changes right now.. flooding emotions are all a part of it... I sure hope they balance soon for you.. activity has helped me.. the ugly word exercise.... I have to change my thoughts about that... sometimes I even look forward to it now. I know exercise releases endorphins and they make us feel good. Feel better -inside and out..ok?

feeling a bit better today - I know this is going to be a long process - and I'm am going to stay in close contact with my docs - I need to clear up how I'm supposed to take my meds today because I haven't had ANY po meds since Feb 2nd - and even then it was only my lisinopril and my citalopram. I haven't had my elavil (tri-cyclic antidepressant to keep my migraines under control); pravastatin or metformin since 1/30/12.
