Default Saw my surgeon today

Went to see him about my hernia but he also wanted to talk about my RNY progress, he was thrilled at the progress I have made, he even commented that he wish everyone put as much effort into it as I do. Sure made me feel good. I haven't seen him since the day of my surgery which was almost 18 months ago since I normally see the NP. He showed me my before picture in my file, wow that was hard to look at! Never, ever want to go back to that again!
Anyway, I signed the consent forms for surgery and I'm waiting on a call from the guy that schedules his surgeries to get my date and time, it will probably be in a couple of weeks.
Oh and he documented the trouble I'm having with my belly button and told me to have my PCP do the same then after the hernia surgery I will probably be able to get my referral for a panni!! That will be nice, kinda scary but nice! I told him about my concerns with my big ole legs and he said not to worry about it just yet, that my workout routine seems to be helping me a lot and to just keep that up.
So all in all it was a good visit.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Great News, Nel.
Ah...removing the panni...how nice that would be, and yes, a little scary as well. I also have the "legs"...but I just try not to look down right now.
keep us posted!

Nell, I'm so happy that you got in to see your surgeon and had such a wonderful report besides the hernia issue! You, friend are one of the most hardest working people I know and you deserve all the praise your doc gave you! (Maybe you should be his poster child!) (seriously!)

Did he say how long the recovery might be after your surgery? Will it be in or out patient? I can see you now Nell... you'll be chomping at the bit to get back into the gym and boot camp! We just may have to come tie you up after surgery! LOL!

PS. What kind of trouble are you having with your belly button? Did I miss something?

He said it would be about 2-3 week before I could exercise again but that I could walk. Oh the belly button, I have a yeast infection, he said he wants to get that cleared up before the hernia repair so that I don't get get a worse infection during the hernia procedure. He said the good thing about it is it will just help my case more with the panni.
Judi, my trainers told me today they want a note from the doctor telling them when I can go back to exercising so that I don't go back to soon, they know me too well too!! LOL

Oh and as long as he doesn't have to open me up it will be out patient. Thank goodness!!

so, any idea on how long it'll take to clear up the yeast in your belly button? I used to have trouble with my belly button getting goopie and red... when I'd see it doing that, I'll put corn starch on a cotton ball and put it in my belly button ... I'd change it in the morning and at night - it would take a few days to dry it out - but it wasn't a yeast infection - I'll start watching for that again as I lose weight.

Otherwise, I'm glad to hear the rest of the appt went well!!!

Well, I'm not sure, they gave me a prescription today for some cream I need to use it 2x a day, I'm hoping it wont take too long, I know when I used to just put diaper rash ointment on the area it cleared up fairly quick but of course when I stopped using it, it came back.

Sorry about the surgery. That is not fun. I am excited because my "little tummy" is going away and nothing "folds over" so I am happy! One less thing to worry about. Now, the ta ta's are another issue! I am hoping those suckers shrink but I am not hopeful at this point!!!

Great news, Nell. You deserve your doctor's praise. I know you'll be glad when the hernia is taken care of. I've had surgery on two of them and it wasn't too bad. Let us know how things are going.
