Question Bathing Suits...

UGH....
I've done a lot of summer clothes shopping lately - trying to figure out what I'm wearing...and how I want to dress "coolly" - temperature - not "hip"! LOL....

Anyway...the last thing that is difficult to deal with is the area of bathing suit! UGH!!!

I'm at a loss at where and WHAT to buy....I'm smaller than 14/16 & 14 from Lane Bryant (thankfully) - although I don't know that I've seen bathing suits there this year.
  • Are YOU buying a new bathing suit?
  • If you are in the middle or PostOP WHERE are you buying??
  • Any suggestions for me?? I'm about a regular 14...

I've got "not so pretty" legs - my thighs are pretty saggy...I may photograph this for all you curious about stretched out skin if you are interested.

_________________________________________
(I've got to keep in all in perspective - I know....I've lost nearly 150#!! I actually don't mind my legs as much as I thought I would...they are not AS saggy as I thought they would be!)

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

To be honest, i havent even THOUGHT about a swim suit for this year. always wanted to try a "tankini" its a two piece but NON MIDRIFF BEARING...which is important...at least for me. Not sure what to do though. I'd say dont worry about the skin, be comfortable out in the heat. OH! what about one of those wrap around thingies??? sorong? is that how you say/spell it?? Hmmm....you've given me one more thing to think about lol!

Femme, I recently was looking for one and saw some really nice ones at Sears. I am about a 14 also and have been able to fit into Large and extra large. They have some really cute tankini seperates to choose from!

Hahaha, I went bathing suit shopping today... Went to Sears because they carry Land's End which I'm told are really good quality and some have an inside band across the abdomen... I tried a few on and they weren't awful! I'm still looking, I need a suit for a long torso... .it's a little bit longer from top to bottom. There are so many different choices. Keep looking... Ohhh and I found a little skirty thing to go over the suit and that wasn't bad. Good luck!

Yall dont laugh at me ok. I have always wore a bathing suit even thou im as large as I am. A suit that I found to fit me well and well cover up some of my self is what they call a Shortsuit. Its a one piece suit. The top is like a regualr swimsuit however as it comes down to your hips it goes into shorts. There all built in togehter. I have had several compliments on this type of suit. Yes the compliments go like this.....for a women your size that suit really does look good on you. I think I need to find me one like that because im not as skinny as I used to be. Love the comments........sigh... The shorts hit you about Mid Thigh so you dont feel uncomfortable wearing it or having people look at you in it. There is nothing to see hanging out! LOL I have thought about this when i do have my surgery I will probally still wear this type because my thighs will really sag. They sag now and Im sure will get much worse as the weight comes off. This type of suit covers that. Its just a suggestion. I havint been able to find them as plentful over the last couple years so last year I bought 3 to store incase they quit making them. But now hey if you can pull off wearing a (NORMAL) one go for it !!!!!!

Don't they sell support type bathing suits over there? Don't sport shops carry support two piece types with long torso and shorts that cover your upper thighs? I think Nike and Adidas and other sportsgoods manufacturers have these types on market. That's another option for you.
Of course, if you want the cutsie look instead of the all business I'm gonna beat you at the mile race type, then, tankini with sarong wraps would be cute.

Being middle age and having middle age belly roll (oh, yeah, Deborah, even without excess weight, once one hits middle age, that belly roll is more than likely to show up, unless you have been working out vigorously and dilligently and are very athletic since your teens or early twenties, unless, of course, you've secretly had aTT) I opt for swim suits with inner supports very cleverly integrated into the suit.

Hey, great site, yours is great, but my personal choices are either the beaded sarong tankini, or the Coral Beach sarong tankini.

Wow! Haven't even starting looking for a swimsuit! The last one I had I kept for 15 years! No joke, 15 years! I bought it at KMart. It was real stretchy with a little skirt, so I could go up and down with my weight and still wear it.
Deb, I'm with ya on the leg thing...my legs are a bit saggy, so I 'm going to get a sarong, as well. I think they are really pretty, anyway, so I don't mind.
BTW, your new pics are great! You look fabulous!
