Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | HI NORA!!! glad you found the site and posted! Welcome to the looseing side and things sound pretty normal. your only 3 weeks out. Being you can eat so little i would personally recommend the sugar free pudding possibly be replaced by Stallones Protein pudidng (available at GNC ) to get some protein of some sort....or possibly try sipping at a protein drink. I wouldnt expect you to be able to finish one but some sips with protein is good for your healing and is important. YOU have got to also work on the water and getting it up dehydradtion could set in espeically with the hot days upon us in the summer time! PROTEIN shakes count towards liquid intakes being its a liquid! HANG in there things get better but in time...does ur surgeon have you on a what stage foods? Every surgeon has us step up differently so its hard for me to say what your at! HUGS! (and the thing that helped me sleep was putting pillows wedged underneath my belly so it didnt move and shift on me causeing pain)

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | HI NORA, welcome to the board. You sound like you are right on track. I thought that the surgery was the hard part but it is the challenges that follow that are challenging and exciting at the same time. Lisa is definately one to listen to about the protein, it is soooo important. There is a clear protein drink at the vitamin stores called Isopure that goes down like water and is not thick like a protein shake but has lots of protein. You might want to see if that is ok for you to try. CONGRATULATIONS in joining all of us losers. We're glad you are with us! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thanks to all of you for responding. I will try the pudding and protein drink. Is the protein drink tastless? Lucky me , I also developed a lactose intolerance. I know my body is changing but cannot see the difference yet. too much swelling still. I amvery happy to be on the loser's bench.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Nora, I almost forgot. One of the first things someone here suggested to me was to take a picture once a week. You've lost 29 lbs which you will DEFINITELY see in your face. My first week I lost 14 and there was a noticeable difference. It's very encouraging. And even if you decide you arent comfortable showing others, its a great way to document your journey. As for tasteless protein. UNJURY has an unflavored protein mix you can stir in water with a spoon. The isopure drink that was recommended is not flavorless and it kinda gross actually. I purchased a few bottles before i went in for my surgery and couldnt even make it thru one YUCK! I am sure you will find something that works. We all find our way. |
