Default What about spices? What about My hospital

#1. Does anyone have any experience with Univeristy of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio or Dr. Schweisinger at that hospital? Just wondering. He will be doing my surgery at that hospital on June 25.

#2. How are most of you dong with spices? Living in So. Texas we season with a lot hot spices. I guess each person is different anyway, but if somone has some experience with spices could you let me know.

Thanks! Mattie

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I am pre-op and am actually hoping that spices are OK too. I love spicey hot foods though after the surgery I'm not sure exactly what I will be able to still eat. I don't think a dozen(or so) hot wings will fall within in a post-op diet!!!!

I am 10 weeks out and love to use spices. I also made spicey green chili week two and not only ate it as soup I put it on mashed potatoe, eggs, a lot of things. I use a lot of garlic, basil and oregano. I tried 'breechick's' chicken strips with fresh Rosemary and fresh parsely and fresh garlic the other night and yum. I also used cinnamon and nutmeg on my crm of wheat and oatmeal. I use a lot of chilis also in my cooking. No problems with them...thank GOD.

I never have liked spicy food so I can't help you Mattie. I grew up on lots of noodles and sauces. Give me a buttery cream sauce and I am one happy camper.

Mattie,
Right after surgery, I didn't do a lot of spicey food for fear of an ulcer. I started eating spicey stuff again around 8 months. In our house Mexican food is a must. Everyone is different. My suggestion is to make sure you have some tums before you eat anything spicey. That has seemed to help me.
