Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi: I need some ideas for new foods! All I eat is chicken, cheese and crackers, salads, yogert, and protein shakes. I need some new ideas. Sometimes I have shrimp but the only way I like is with cold with cocktail sauce and I can only eat so much of it. I am getting very bored and frustrated. Plus im on a plateau right now so that doesnt help matters. And Im still constipated....dont get it I take 2 fiber pills a day 2 stool softeners and I tried yesterday smooth moves tea that Lisa reccomended. Dont get me wrong I do go but it is very Hard (sorry to be blunt) and then it kills my hemmeroids. Plus i still have the blues...my doc put me on an antidepressant so hopefully that will help. Oh well sorry for venting but getting it all out helps. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YMA Im gonna give you a suggestion for the constipation. Of course I will advise you ask your Dr. There is a new stool softner out. Its called Miralax. This used to be precription. Yes its a white powder but I promise you if you mix it with juice or even water you cant taste it. This product really works well. They have it at Walmart or any pharmacy. I would try the small bottle first to make sure it makes you move. Then if so go to the bigger one. Its not addictive. I hope this helps. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | This is definitely the place to vent! You and I are at the same point i believe....and i did a bad thing yesterday because like you i was bored. I ventured out and cheated, and feel terrible for it. I didnt get sick but I just feel bad that Ive come this far only to cheat. The truth is though chicken is quite boring there are MANY ways you can make it or buy it prepared that tastes different. I get a whole chicken from boston market sometimes. feeds me and my little one for a few days. you can make a chicken parm with red sauce and lo fat mozzerella; dont fry the chicken though, bake it. there are a few things you can do to spice it up. im sorry you are feeling down in the dumps. i was too and then i steppe don the scale today after a stall, and ive lost 3 lbs. It will move again for you too. A lot of times you just need to drink more water. that will also help with your hard poops. tomorrow is another day. smile! you made it thru today. |

| Super Moderator | yma, (((((((HUGS)))))) Hang in there, you're at a stage that you won't be at forever. Give it a month (though one month may seem long, when you look back, it'll have passed in a flash) and you may find yourself saying something else. Just one note, though. Antidepressants often cause constipation, so you may need some prescription laxatives to see you through. Talk it over with your surgeon and psych. Also, don't forget your fluids, if you can, try to get in more than the 64oz you need--no need to over do, but maybe 10oz or so more could make a difference. I'm sure you'll get out of your rut soon.

| Whipper Snapper | I'm depressed too - went to a mood disorder meeting the other night and it helped somewhat. I have had a bottle of paxil since winter (right after my surgery) and last night the anxiety was so bad I took one before bed and one half this morning again. I didn't want to take them but I couln't stand it anymore. I am having problems at work (I own a personnel office) and business is very slow . I working with prospective buyers and I pray they take it so that I can retire. It could be the surgery/eating as well as others hve stated . I just want to be happy again. Garda Ontario. |

Weight Loss Method Aitkens | Amy, I haven't had the surgery yet but I know from doing atkins I got really bored with food too. Here are a couple of things I made for my hubby and I you might like. I would get boneless skinless chicken breasts and dip them in a beaten egg, then roll them in parmasean (spelling) cheese and I would fry them in just a little butter and olive oil or you could bake them, we really liked them. I also made lemon pepper chicken, I pounded them a little bit to flatten them out and used lots of fresh cracked black pepper, and cooked them in just a little bit of butter and olive oil and then squeezed fresh lemon juice over them. Or you could do chicken cordon bleu - boneless skinless breasts, you can do them in a pan with the butter/olive oil and just lay a slice of ham and a slice of swiss cheese on top once they are cooked or roll the ham and cheese up inside them hold them together with a wooden pick and bake them in the oven. I hope this helps you. ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I will give yall a snack hint with the chicken. You can use the canned chicken or fresh Boneless Skinless chicken breast for this. Im not post op yet but this is so good for a snack or even as a meal if your eating small portions. 1 can boneless chicken. I prefer cooking a fresh chicken breast. 1 small onion chopped up very fine. 1 teaspoon of garlic salt. I prefer fresh garlic and salt to taste. One tablespoon of Lemon Juice. I prefer Real Lemon in a bottle its cheap and fresh. 1 pack of Low Fat Cream Cheese. Protein along with the Chicken. Pepper to taste. Drain chicken and Mince it up.(Cooked chicken shread it then mince it up.) Add Cream cheese in soft state Add onion. Make sure its minced for your tummys Add Lemon Juice Garlic salt, or fresh garlic with salt to taste. Add pepper to taste. Mix it well. If you wash your hands well this works best !!!!! LOL Let it chill over night. Then enjoy it ! Serve yourself. I serve this with crackers on the side. If your not allowed a cracker yet try it buy it self. Its different and should last a least week if not eaten sooner This is like a before meal snack for family and friends to snack on. My family loves this. I plan on using this when Im allowed spices etc. You can do the same with Dried beef also but make sure to wash the salt off the beef and pat dry first. Dont add salt to it. But add a dash of Whorstershire sauce . If anyone tries this.... Let me know how it works for ya. |
