Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Okay, I will stick this, too.
We probably should ask Craig to make a separate sub forum for important info like this, or else the sticky post list is going to get longer and longer and push everything else out.

Better move over to More Tools and ask.

Lightbulb RE: MEDS WE CAN and CANNOT TAKE POST OP

Wow Thank you very much I was wondering about some of them!

You know when I had my stomach banded back in 2000 nobody told me about this piece of information. I had many medications without any restrictions I could have damaged my stomach if that's not for sure!!

I remember I had horrible pains and the only thing they gave me was Pascoban and tylanol! after I saw a consultant he told me that I also developed 7 stones in my gallbladder (2 of them more than 2 cm in size)

Having medication (can/cannot) list is pretty useful.
Thank you

This is a great post. It's a guideline to what we strive for.

However, one caveat. There may be an extenuating circumstances where your doc feels you need to take something for a certain reason which can't be addressed by "safe" meds. In this case, it is the lesser of two evils. (we shouldn't take narcotics, but after an ubl, you need vicodin. I know. I just had surgery and was trying to be the hero, not taking more than Tylenol, and it took me over 2 months of pain to get back to normal vs. probably about one week. I won the battle and lost the war) For example, when I had those internal stitches working their way out of my arm incisions, they got terribly inflamed. Doc put me on Nsaids because they are anti-inflammatories whereas Tylenol is not. That was a one time deal and it didn't hurt me.

I suspect what is meant is that you don't want to make a habit of using those drugs. If the surgeon says I should, I do. He has more experience than I.

I posted this on my local board, which meets physically twice a month and the moderator kicked me out.

I still go to meeting though. I'm bigger than she is LOL!
