My frustrating update.

I met with My Drs.' and my anesthesiologist, had lab test run and met with nutritionist Tuesday and Wednesday. They said everything looked good and the next time we see you will be the morning of surgery. June 25th.

Today I get a call from my liaison that they now need the pathology reports from my endoscopy, colonoscopy & a heart catherterization all done in 2006. I sent every medical record I had prior to finalizing surgery date. They got the procedures and pictures etc, but not the pathology reports. Those of you in the military know how hard it is to get reports and here I am at 12 days away and find that they don't have everything they need. They have not said it is postponed but now I am nervous thinking that is exactly what will happen. Even insurance has been approved. Will the jumping thru hoops ever end? Mattie

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Ya know Mattie that should fall on them to get it not you. They will probally have a quicker turn around on getting them to. Some how thru all of this... I missed you were part of TRICARE to. You will get what you need. If you have trouble call that liaison up and tell them they can get the records much quicker with just a phone call and fax compared to what you have to go through. Gessh. Honey Im sure all will fall into place before hand. Maybe its there way to keep you busy until your big day. LOL take care Mattie.

Awww, (((((((HUGS))))))))
Yup, MsVickie's right. It will be much quicker if your surgeon requested the path results directly from the drs or whomever have these records. This is true anywhere in the world. Not sure if they need a release from you to get the info, so be ready to give them that, but other wise, dr to dr speak is the fastest.
They just want to make sure, though, I'm sure your surgery will go on as scheduled.

Thanks Guys. I did get the cardio one yesterday but that was easy. It was at a private hospital. The other 2 are military and I did fax them a release. The Dr who treated me though is in Iraq now. So Some Dr. has 72 hrs to respond. We'll see. I am going forward as I should staying under 20 grams of carbs a day for surgery. I am so so ready. Mattie

I am sooo excited and friends are calling wishing me good luck and to tell me they will be praying for me. My 2 boys are not really wanting me to do it but know I am determined so not saying anything except to say they want me happy. My sister and a dear friend who had it done 3 yrs ago (and LOOKS GREAT) and my hubby are cheering me on. I feel much better after meeting with my TEAM of Dr.s Tuesday and I even told the head Dr. that I hope they felt priviledged because I paid $21.50 to have a background check done on him. He is very accomplished. He really laughed when I told him. He is the head professor on general surgery at UT Health Science Center. So I am very ready and counting down. Thank you all for your support and caring. Mattie
