Hi again. I was just interested from all the members that have had surgery or are going to have surgery where you are from and what surgeon and hospital you used.
I am from Manhattan and i used Dr. DeCsepel at St Vincents Hospital. He is a great surgeon who is the head of laproscopic surgery at St.Vincents. Assisting him was also a top surgeon Dr. Nick Gabriel. I highly recommend both if you are looking for a surgeon in Manhattan.

ok i'm from canada (carleton Place ont) but my surgeon is over in rochester new york. His name is Dr.O'malley, he works at highland hospital.

My surgeon was Victor Stelmack and the hospital was Barix Clinics in Groveport, OH.
He's the greatest in my opinion, but unfortunately he's no longer there. He moved away and I don't know where yet.
But my pcp has agreed to do all my bloodwork and will refer me to the bariactric surgery center at King's Daughter's Hospital in Ashland, KY for any other follow-up she may think I need. They are great there too.

My surgeon is Dr. Fred Tiesinga. He is located in Oak Park, Illinois (outside of Chicago). He was highly recommended and for that I travelled 4 1/2 hrs to see him.

If insurance issues don't force me to change at the last minute, I'll be having surgery at the Barix Clinic in Wylie, TX, just outside of Dallas, by Dr. David Hall. He's been doing this surgery exclusively for 20 years and is one of the nation's leading bariatric surgeons. He came highly recommended and added to that is the convenience of living only 30 minutes from the hospital. Praying that I don't have to change horses in the middle of the stream!

MY sugeon was Dr. Ahmad, Port Jefferson, NY and he is a wonderful
brilliant surgeon. HIS care with me pre op and post op has been well
above what i ever expected. Dr. AHMAD has a care a notch above
others that you just dont find today! I highly recommend him to any
LONG Islanders!

Hey those of you who have posted your information already thank you so much. The other who have just lurked, it helps alot to new people researching the surgery to see if anyone has anything in common as far as hospital of choice or surgeon of choice. So please share! I had my surgery performed by Dr. Wernsing at the Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia. I have been really impressed with him and he has a very good sense of humor which is important to me when it comes to doctors. I actually just found out today that one of my friends from church just got assigned the same surgeon and I am really excited for her.
