Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Kenya honey, Im sorry that is the only type of visit you had. WOW! Mine got right down into the nitty gritty with me on the first visit. That was a hour and a half long if i remember correctly. Key points he hit on with me like he knew me? Im sure it was a list of questions he has premade up that a triggers for emotions. On that first meeting he did say he seen where my fathers death was still very emotional for me even though it had been 7 years ago.

I will say im very fortunate to have a 2 nurse pract I see and feel almost like I personally know. They are my biggest councelers. They are the ones that seen I had alot of anxiety and help me I dont want to say fix my problem but come really close. Ya know I think its really better to seek help for somthing like this than to crawl under a rock and let it build. I know If I had I wouldnt be at the job I am now because I would have already told off the man I work for! That still might happen but it has really helped me control that part. I would perhaps suggest a different councler this time? That part will totally be up to you. And you know Kenya im proud of you for knowing that you probally need to one. Thatta girl !

It seems with pre op psych evals, it goes two ways.
On one hand is like Kenyars, just a few Qs and let you off the hook so to speak, a pose that the psych eval requirement was met, and on the other hand like MsVickie's, where the psych will sit down and really make you travel down the road.

HANA~ I completely feel this way too! I've been losing slower and slower.....this last month I lost less than 2 pounds...and I'm seeing that if I don't concentrate...and work for it....it's not gonna happen.

It' scares me a bit that they call the "honeymoon period" is 24mos.... that means I have 9 mos. left...and if it's suppose to get difficult after that - whew! - I'm in trouble!

MY PREOP THERAPY:
Oh my....my therapist BETTER HAVE HAD a therapist herself!! She definitely had issues...and although I paid her sufficiently - nothing we discussed was focused or on topic! I did it to make the necessary steps so I could have the surgery.
Thankfully I know that NOT ALL therapist are like that....I just feel bad for any of the other clients that go to 'the LOON' I did!!!

Whew!!!!

Fortunately, the one that I saw for the eval for the surgery is affiliated with the surgical team I HAD to see her to be approved for the surgery but I so dont "have" to see her now that I am looking for someone on my own. I can go to anyone who accepts my insurance and i just got the approval letter for this so I will be looking in the provider directory first thing tomorrow. I get 20 co pay free visits, and then $25 a pop thereafter. I am very fortunate and will take advantage of this benefit. I admit i have some things that need to be addressed and that's the first step, right?

There's a book I bought a little while ago called "Shrink Yourself" which deals about the reasons we hold on to food. I've been working through it, a lot of it makes sense.

I think a lot of my problems with food started in early childhood, my folks were always unhappy and fighting (still are 40 years out) and the happiest times I had were around the dinner table or making cookies with my Nanny. We are all "big people" in my family and our lives still revolve around food. It's going to be tough. I figure I'll just stick to my guns and eat a kids meal. I'm not going through this much pain to mess it up.
