Aw, geeze, this is really not the news we want to hear---it happens unfortunately, but not something we wish to hear, of anyone, whether we know, or don't know.
Everyone goes into this hoping, longing for a better life, and every single person deserves it.
If not MRSA, are they thinking VRE?
Let's all keep sending him good vibes.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

His first name is Keith. He never said his last name. The hospital he listed in his post is: New York Presbyterian hospital, which is on York ave., and 68th street. I have no clue where that is. I guess its in manhattan?? I doubt highly that they will give this info out over the phone.....oh gosh. all he wanted was for someone to visit him so he wasnt alone if something happend. I feel awful.

I don't think you can get ANY info from the hospital unless you are on their list of persons to be notified. It will have to be through family. Unless you, for any reason, personally know the surgeon e.g. have the same surgeon, or have the surgeon on the same team, or you just happen to work in the particular hospital, it will be near impossible for an outsider to get info o patients. Even if you were an employee there, basically, if you imparted info without a release, you are going to be breaching privacy rules.
So, no matter how concerned we are, no matter how honest our intents are, we can know only what the person in contact with the family puts up on that particular board.
This is frustrating to say the least, but all we can do is pray.

Forgot, MRSA and VRE are both vicous antibiotic resistant mutant strains of otherwise fairly easily controlled bugs, and have been causing grief in hospitals world over.

well ill just keep positive thoughts.
KENYAR i had pm'd him being the city was to far for me to come to visit with work and all
i gave him my phone numbers if he was feeling lonely in the hospitol and needed to talk.

OKAY i just went to the other site here is the posted thread and i am sure this is the same keith here:

Keith needs our prayers and positive vibes (bingoklee)
I just got off the phone with his Mom. Keith had a significant event yesterday with a serious infection. He was taken back into surgery today. The hospital called his family and asked that they be present. It is very serious. The family is now in NYC at his side. He is now in ICU,Isolation. (3:19 pm) His Dad was gowning up to go in and visit Keith. His mom said she will call me in a couple hours. I will keep you all posted.

also found this on him on the other site:

just spoke with his sister in law. He is in ICU,on a respirator and fully sedated. He seems to be a little better today. His blood gases are up. Helen spoke with me. Many IV lines Arterial lines,Gastric lines, Drain lines She said she will call each day. Keith is having a very difficult time.

THIS too from the other board yesterday posting:

I spoke with Keith's sister in law Helen this afternoon. Keith is in ICU. his temp is up a little. His white blood cell count is down to 13000 from 28000. He is slightly responsive. Still not breathing on his own. They are not sure now what the infection is, They are awaiting cultures. It may be strep and staff infection.

I am glad the white cell count is coming down I hope that means he is responding to the antibiotics he is receiving

Lisa, thank you for the update.
Yes, since his WBC count is coming down, the infection is coming under control, but he sure is still not out of the woods. I hope his drs get the results of the cultures soon, or already have them, so they can give him the most effective treatment.
He must make it, after all the ups and downs he's had, he soooo deserves success.
