Default 5 1/2 Weeks Post Op - Question

Hello Everyone! I am about 5 1/2 weeks Post Op now and feeling great AND down 40 Pounds. Although this past week has been very slow at the weight loss. I think I remember people talking about a little plateau about this time. Is this correct? Anything you can do about it?

THANKS!!!!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

hi. I had just hit one myself and sat in it for a few weeks. Some of the old timers introduced me to strawberries and the scale moved the VERY next day. Now, I know it sounds crazy and there's no science behind it but I was very anxious for the scale to move again for me.
Sometimes your body just needs the rest as other will tell you.
Sometimes you need to switch your routine up. You have to try different things and see what works for you. I am finding in reading thru all the posts here, that we are al SO different and respond very differently to things. You will find your way.

Good luck!

At 5 weeks post op I wouldn't worry about a plateau. This is very temporary and your weight loss has been so quick that your body will have weeks that it doesn't show on the scale but will show other ways. You're doing great and if I were you, I would stay away from that scales for a couple of weeks.

You're about a month and a half out and have already lost 40lb! Congratulations!! Do you realize that is about 1lb per day? Mighty quick, if you ask me. Which means, your body may be wanting to slow down a bit right now, and adjust some stuff, before it starts losing significant amounts.
Don't fret if the going gets slow, your body is still healing, it takes about 3-4 mo for your pouch and innards to heal completely, so you must let it heal first, before anything else.
Besides, you'll be losing your inches most when the scale is stale.

((((((HUGS)))))) May your journey go well.

40 pounds in a month! WOW! That's great. I can only hope I will be able to lose enough to be able to see a difference like that. Keep up the good work.

I was right there with you at 1 month checkup. Some words of wisdom I have read on here are..."Don't look at the scale, look at how the clothes are feeling on you." Keep up the great work and hang in there. Tina

Michelle,
I am right there with you! I am 6.5 weeks out and experiencing the same thing! I am taking my pic in the same outfit every 2 weeks, that helps me to see what the scale is not showing. Good Luck, you are doing Fabulous!

Hey Kim. That's a good idea. I can see that I am going to have to invest in a digital camera so I don't go broke developing film. The funny thing is, I don't even have a computer at home either (that's why I don't have a picture of myself on here). I sit at this thing all day long at work and didn't want one at home. I may have to invest in one though.
