I've been MIA for a few days. I had a very scary experience on Monday. I was walking through my office feeling fine and suddenly I was doubled over with abdominal pain. I couldn't walk and felt like I was going to pass out from the pain. I ended up going to the ER and scared to death that something had gone wrong with my RNY. Talk about panic!!
Come to find out it was acute appendicitis and my appendix was also perforated. It didn't rupture (thank goodness) but it was leaking and pretty infected they said. Once the CT scan was back, I was in surgery to remove my appendix within the hour.
I just got home from the hospital today and am feeling so much better. I'm so relieved that it had nothing to do with RNY. I'm relaxing on the deck with my ice water and some good drugs, looking forward to losing the 8 lbs. I gained from all the IVs. DH and I are on vacation this week. I told him that when I said I wanted to spend the night away from home and be waited on over vacation, that was NOT what I had in mind!!

Well, I am truly glad to hear you've come through with flying colors and are doing well now, ruptured appendix can be life threatening if left for too long, so that was a phew.
