Has anyone seen the TV show "Big Medicine?" Apparently it is a weekly series on TLC (direct tv channel 280) about gastric bypass surgery. I think from what a coworker told me, that each week is about a different person having the surgery. The next showings on Direct TV are Sunday, July 1 at 5 pm and again at 6 pm EDT.

Yep I watch it. If i miss it the TIVO records it for me. What I am liking about it now its showing how these Drs are fighting for the insurance to pay for people to have this done. They have a young man on there now that has been denied several times to have it done. I think the older Dr is supposed to get on the phone with the insurance company next week and fight. Its a rewarding show. If you watch......the show right after I will break your heart. Its showing how alot of overwieght people end up in nursing homes.

Ya..I seen both shows...I like big medicine...oh ya ,forgive me for this stupid question,but I really want to no...when they do surgeries like Tummy Tucks and when they remove the excess skin from your arms and legs...why do they call it plastic surgery...LOL...I no its sounds like the most craziest question ever and I no I sound like a moron ...but why call it plastic surgery when they dont use an once of it...LOL

As far as that nursing home thing your talking about MsVickie...I think the hospitals called Gravinhurse Hospital...what a sad state of affairs that show is. Did you see the 1 were this lady who was a patient there had WLS. Then after they showed her sneaking food in a week after the operatioin. I think it was Wendys or somthing. Now wouldnt that just distroy that new pouch of hers or am I wrong !! But for most of the shows Ive seen its pretty depressing !

That is so sad about the lady who had wls.
I watched several of the reruns this afternoon of the Big Medicine show. It was my first time to see the show and I found it very interesting. It was mostly about body lifts, but I think a brand new show is going to air tomorrow night.
