I cannot help but go thru a spectrum of emotions while watching these shows. On the one hand I dont understand why insurance approval is so difficult to attain for so many, on the other hand, I was frustrated by those who let themselves go or broke the rules repeatedly. I am happy to see that big people's issues are finally getting the air time. Let's discuss...

Have you ever seen like People Magaizne when they show the people on the front and they say how they did the normal way and no surgires and etc.......The surgeries that we all go thru do get a bad rap sometimes. But hey I dont care........this tool has helped me change my life and has put me on a path to a new and healthier me. I feel great and Im happy. So I agree with you boots. But that Brookhaven show is so sad. Like Kenyar said it kinda makes you so emotional watching it. Its sad. But I was happy in the end last night when Marc finally got his approval. I hope he does well. I wish they would update us on Allen though. And what do you guys think about the girl who had the plastic surgery. That was kinda scary about her blood count and etc......Yikes.

NOT everyone gets approval so i think its great there showing all sides of things. Well plastics are a very big scary surgery, so the fact that she was so sick does happen and its a reality. I have heard its far more painful a surgery as well. SCARES me maybe someday ill be brave

It's VERY dangerous, and there is so much more pain involved from what i understand. And to be honest, i think it looks wierd; very un-natural. how is it that you can have a flat stomach and still have flab in other areas? lol. It's just not right. why not be flabby all over lol! im not by any means judging anyone who has made that choice. i am just saying FOR ME, no way...

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I love the show Big Medicine. I do like Bookhaven but..... I agree with Boots on the statments of a Quick Fix. They acutally discourage them from getting it done. Im sorry but when they discourage like that...... what is the end result? Death. I personally never thought I would get as Big as I have. I never thought of my self weighing what the patients do in Brook haven but you know what....... Im getting there. Another element I didnt like was the fact that they are trying to push the one fella out of the hosptial. I can see were they get good medical care however, Im not in total agreement with the basis they run it. The quick fix statment really did burn me. Why? I view the surgery as a life saver. They are discouraging them from it and having people die there from the obesity. On a lighter note...... I love how they fought for Mark to get his surgery done. Belive it or not it took alot more than what we seen to get it approved. I agree with the older Dr. on the statement of: If you have somthing wrong with you we shoudlnt have to get approval to fix it especially if it is life threating. This young man breaks my heart because you can tell hes so unhappy and wanting to live. Yall take care today. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | barb: i agree. it was frustrating to watch. painful as well. i struggled for years carring around 260 lbs how do you carry 450? the quick fix mentality is something those of us who chose this road are going to have to accept and learn to deal with when confronted. I just started telling people i had the surgery because apparently, there us a buzz here in the office. i have heard rumors about myself being sick etc. so i let people know. almost immediately people judge. (not like i care. i tell those types where to go and how to get there!) and that is something i just HAVE to deal with period. I dont understand how you could let a person die from this. It isnt rocket science. I almost wish i could become a surgeon and set up a clinic and help as many people as i could. donate my services at a reduced cost or something. I know thats unrealistic and nothing in this life is free but gosh SOMETHING needs to be done.
