Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi all, I'm 3.5 weeks out of surgery, down 31 lbs and very pleased with everything; except in the last few days I have no energy. What happened? I'm taking my vitamins, CA, drinking my water and getting in all of my protein. I just finished TOM and since then, just can't get my mojo back. What's wrong with me? I haven't napped much since the first few days home from the hospital and now I feel like I could nap 2/3 times a day! Anyone know what might be going on with me? Is it the weight loss? Is it the low number of calories catching up to me? Thanks! Amy

| Super Moderator | (((((HUGS))))) For one thing, you are still healing inside, it takes 3-4 months to heal completely, so you'll experience good days and bad days. You still need to rest when your body asks you to. Also, since you say right after TOM, you may be a bit anemic, so have that checked out as well. Wishing you the best.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | (((HUG))) it happens the energy will come back in all good time! YOU just had MAJOR surgery!!! body has to adjust and heal. JUST be sure that your doing all your rules perfectly... getting in liquids, doing the best u can for this stage on protein and relax. THE TIREDS are normal and i was wiped out alot the first 3 to 4 months!!! I had a june 1 surgery and was sluggish that entire first summer! ITS to be expected...... hugs might be to early for blood work to show deficincies .... but maybe a b12 shot cant hurt , i used the nascobal nasal spray cause i work and makeing doctor appointments are never an easy task for a working parent.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Doc thanks for the advice. To find out if I'm anemic should I speak with the surgeon that performed my RNY (he's about an hour and a half from my home) or my primary care Dr here in town? Thanks for your help! Amy

| Newbie | Can a doctor perscribe injections of vitamins and minerals instead of supplements for better absorption? Or can you put liquid vitimans and minerals into a needle and inject yourself with out harm? Does anybody know? thanks dee m |

| Super Moderator | An injectible solution is specially made so it will be absorbed correctly and do no damage to the area where it's injected, whether subcutaneous (right under you skin) intramuscular (in your muscles) or intravenous (in your veins.) And, each of these solutions are different because the composition of the various tissues and the systems of absorption are different. You can NOT inject stuff that are meant to be taken orally. Neither can you take orally things that are meant to be injected. Drs will give you a script for injectible stuff, but unless it's insulin and some other things that are approved by FDA for self administration by well informed and well trained patients, you have to have a nrs or dr or a qualified person to administer the injections. Intravenous injections are ALWAYS done by qualified medical personnel. Subcutaneous injections that are approved for self administration often come in all-in-one easy to use kits.
