I am having trouble with eating so I figured I'd plan out my meals for the day. Can anyone tell me if this is right? Again, my nutritionist only gives me alist of things i CAN eat, but she doesnt tell me how much or when etc. Let me know if this sounds good or if it seems like too much food B: atkins advantage shake S: 4 oz light n fit yogurt and some sliced strawberry L: 1 oz turkey rolled up with 1 oz american cheese S: 3 ozs of chicken breast D: hard boiled egg S:* optional evening snack of something with protein in it: meat or cheese or some more shake??? Of course in between all of this i have to drink to a goal of 64ozs of fluids (which includes the shake) I also have NO CLUE how much i should be eating in terms of calories...I'm lost. Is this enough? too much? I feel alittle queasy thinking about it. this is more than i would usually eat in a day HELP!!!!!!

I think that looks great, I really do. I think you are doing fine on calories. Your snacks are all healthy and protein. I am crazy over string cheese right now as my snack. I want to eat strawberries, but am not sure if I can yet or not...The only fruit I have had in 5 weeks is 1/2 banana when my legs were cramping this weekend. I am so blessed that the things I miss are veggies and fruits. Anyway, have you tried pork yet? I want to. I have found that crispy bacon goes down really well. Eggs and I are fighting right now. I mean I haven't been sick, but they have not been good to me lately. I am still on tuna salad with a few oyster crackers and mustard. What about chicken salad or egg salad for you?

i did the chekcn salad and the egg salad when i wa son soft moist....SO had enough of that lol! i LOVED bacon two weeks ago, cant eat it this week. eggs were my favorite first food, but they dont sit well at all now unless they are hardboiled which is INSANE. i used to LOVE omelettes...it seems what goes down easy changes weekly if not daily. this is just a plan, i havent been eating like this all along which is BAD BAD BAD, but i plan to start with this plan tomorrow if i can get it all in...i dunno. as for the strawberries, ( i think you should wait) i just started eating them a few weeks ago and my nutirtionist isnt thrilled. something about the seeds, but im eating them and thats that LOL! the funny thing about tuna...i cant eat it at all. i get the lump in my chest like its either going to come back up, or sit there forever. i dont know what it is. everytime ive tried it, i get the same result. LOVED it pre-op... THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!!! |

I think your day is fine. I never counted calories. I Was just taught to COUNT my PROTEIN...and doing that keeping to the 70 to 80 grams of protein range gives a safe amount of calories. I also watch sugars first year if it had more then 5 grams sugar didnt have i now bend that to about 12.... and i keep my carbs on good days very lo cause carbs trigger eating binges.........

Just one advice. At this point, don't worry about the calories. Not until you're 12 months out. ((((((HUGS)))))) Hang in there, you'll get the hang of it. From reading everybody's posts, I think it takes 6-12 months until anyone really gets the hang of things. Just enjoy the ride you're on now, and concentrate on your fluid--I know it's difficult, when this board was still brand new, and Lisa wasn't yet at the first surgeversary mark, I kinda remember a chat where christyblue, xsmith and Lisa all were saying how hard it was to get all the fluids and protein in.

FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal FREE! and you can keep it private or public, it's easy to count your small portion.. 1/2 chicken breast is .25 of chicken breast you know? planning is always great because with consistent planning at some point it becomes 2nd nature to you. remember it's ALL about re-learning new ways .. calories! girl..phftttttt!! protein FIRST & MOST...I counted only protein to carb ratios ---bree
