| Super Moderator  | It's a kind of virtual reality--the surgeon can see on the screen his view and touch the screen for the movements, and so have better control over the instruments and what he is doing. Here's the link to their information site. One of the Japanese online references I found was from my med school.  Too bad I can't link that in, y'all will have trouble making head or tail out of it.  Keeping you in my prayers for an uneventful surgery and uncomplicated recovery. (((((((HUGS)))))))

Without *cutting* may be a bit difficult--consider cancer that has to be taken out one way or another (even with the advances in chemotherapy, taking out the lesions wherever effective will probably be a necessity so long as 100% early and curable stage discovery/diagnosis doesn't become a reality) and, well, transplants and stuff. But, not cutting through the skin is a possibility in the future, there is a procedure already called NOTES (natural orifice endoscopic surgery) being experimented with. The surgeon cuts through the stomach instead of the skin to remove the gall bladder, or the appendix. So far, it's only being done on humans in India, due to the necessity of developing effective surgical instruments and techinques, and the question of ethics.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | One of the local hospitals near me use the Gamma Knife now. Its amazing in it self. I have also seen the new way some surgeons do breast implants. They go threw the belly button to do it so there is no scars. Wild huh. Sorry Becka this is right up my alley in medicine. LOL. YOu please be sure to tell us how you feel and the insicions made. I went to the link that was posted and WOW on the hysterectomy they can do now verus the one they have to cut you hip to hip if you cant have the vaginal one. Its truly amazing. |
