Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass  |  Progesterone Cream Anyone ever tried this for anxiety/depression. I hate anti-depressants and the side effects. I have a friend who suffers from depression and had a real tough time last summer. Has since tried progesterone cream and is doing really well. Ive been doing research on it and it looks interesting. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Doc?

| Super Moderator  | Honestly, I don't think I've ever heard of progesterone cream used for depression, this side of the ocean. That said, it's true that the unblanced female hormones--both estrogen and progesterone need to be balanced with each other-- can aggravate (not cause) depression. Think PMS, this happens because of the imbalance, progesterone level falling, but the estrogen not yet coming up enough. So, in theory, it could work. You should check if there are any complications, though, as there's a finer line with hormones when it comes to effective dose/overdose.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YMA, I have never heard of this. Im like Doc in Theory it could work. Im a tad concerned about you and I will admit this. Listen, We all dont like the idea of taking meds to help with our well being. Some of the side effects are tough but in time they will subside. Your Dr evedently felt you needed them or else they would not have precribed them to begin with. I just hate to see anyone struggle with somthing they dont have to. Its worse than taking the medications you were precribed. The side effect you stated earlier was the sexual stamina. Honey talk to your Dr and tell them this. They can help you with it. There are some that do not have the effect. Only they can help you. Im worried about you and you trying to take this upon yourself to fix. Let me know how things go with you and this.....I am generally concered. |
