Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | everyone knows I had my surgery last thursday and everything went great I have been feeling awesome. Im so happy with everything the pain has not been bad at all and i Have started the pureed food and that is going very well. I don't go back to meet with my surgen till monday because he went on vacation after he released me from the hospital. I stayed at my mom and dads house till tuesday and then came home wensday night I slept in my bed for the first time it went really well. I have been struggleing with sleeping on my back so much because i always have slept on my stomach sence what seems like birth. so when i came home i was able to sleep on my stomach and it was great. well last night thursday night my husband and i went upstairs to go to bed and everything was great i felt great i even went the hole day with no pain medication. I got in bed slowly and was laying on my back. my husband terned out the light and i was laying there and i was like mabie i will roll over and get confetable and go to sleep. so slowly i began to roll ever so slightly to get onto my stomach as i did so i felt a pulling feeling not to bad then it felt werse i did not even get over and i felt stuck afraid to roll afraic to do anything. It was almost like a pulling taring feeling now im so scared i have done something to myself. It does not hert bad or anything but i still feel like a tenderness weard feeling and it is on my left side just under my rib cage. Its 5am here and i woke up and came down stairs to take some of my pain meds I think today im just going to take it very easy and rest. Im so stupped I wish i never did that I just feel so upset with myself my husband had to literaly hold me so i could get out of the posision i was in because it was pulling so much. Please lord let it just be regualar surgery pain and i have not done any harm to my self . anyone else incounter anything like this early post op

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS> i had the same thing. I got overly confident about how comfy i could get a day or two after being home. BOY did it scare me. But i think i just twisted in a way i shoulndt have and it was too late for me to "untwist" you know that kind of thing. IF YOU FEEL LIKE YOU CANT GO ON, or the pain is so intense, or you notice blood or anything wierd going on please call your dr. do not wait. if it isnt that bad, take your pain meds and RELAX. do NOTHING strenuous. no bending, no lifting, no twisting. I think you'll be alright Last edited by Kenyar : 07-27-2007 at 06:54 AM. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I got pains like that during pregnancy and early post op. FOR me i think it was just the healing is going on and then the shift of the weight ( i carried most in the middle gut) ... just becareful that you dont over do and get a hernia but i know that pain and pull u refer. Just be careful and try to support your middle when turning in bed with a pillow to avoid that. IF the pain however persists you need to phone the surgeon and besure you didnt do more then what i had felt! hugs xoxox

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | thanks so much i really dont think that i did anything really band and the meds seem to be kicking in so im going to go lay down a rest for a wile. Im just going to take it really easy today. monday i am going to mention it to the my surgen just so that he knows. I would hate to keep it from him and something happen down the road laproscopic procedures are great because you heal quicker and less pain but sometimes you feel betten when you really are not healed and better yet. I just have to keep telling myself that i am still healing and i need to rest. I really have been probly doing to much in the first week of haveing this.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I agree with Lisa, I think it is probably your body healing and you just need to take it slowly. Roz

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I started feeling that "pulling" sensation during 1-2 weeks post op. It did scare me in the beginning, but I don't feel it much anymore. I have also heard of people having that same feeling after they get their gall bladders taken out, so I think it's pretty safe to assume that it's a "healing" kind of thing. Also, I was still very numb when I got home. And I thought when I first started feeling that pulling that I was feeling it then because the numbness was slowly wearing off. I'm still a little numb in certain spots and I'm almost 3 months post op (the 30th). But like the others have said, if it gets unbearable, or any other abnormalities happen, please call your Dr. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | (((((ASHLEY))))) I way overdid my second day home and thought I really hurt myself.... I bent over to pick some stuff up and then I picked up the dog (which I thought was about 10 poungs heavier than she really was) out of habit and thought I pulled something. Just take it easy. I found holding a pillow against tummy felt a lot better for a while. Sitting up straight also stunk until about the middle of week three for me. I hung out on the sofa with my Mom's laptop. Bless her heart for letting me borrow it. I hope you feel better really soon. Every day should get better, and if it doesn't definitely call the doc. And if you're worried call the doc.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I dont know about the staples as I have not had it yet, but I can tell you that I had my hysterectomy done lap and had those same feelings. I decided to sit on the couch (4 days after the surgery) and watch tv after my husband left for work at 5am and ended up staying there until he got home at 7pm. You can bet I never tried that one again!! It hurt and pulled when I tried to get up. You just don't realize how much you use your stomach for and after surgery, you really do!! I hope that everything is just fine for you. Take it easy...that is the BEST part of "going under the knife" using your kids and husband to help you. HAHA. |
