Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Anyone know of any other way to cook fish? I am new to fish. And being that I am going to SCREAM if i eat one more piece of chicken, I thought I would venture out and try some fish. I've only baked it so far with nonstick spray and seasonings, but what else can you do with it other than that? |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Pre-op I only liked fried fish. But post-op I've really became a BIG fan of Tilapia. I will use, salt, pepper, lots of garlic, and Parmesan cheese. I know you can use "cajun" seasonings and lime juice too. Also, I've heard using "dill" seasoning with lemon juice too. I just love the garlic and Parmesan though. Oh, and I also used some Italian seasoned bread crumbs too. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well, Tilapia is a VERY mild fish taste. That's why I started with that. Pre-op I loved cod, Jack Salmon well, pretty much any kind, because the taste was hidden in the "fried" batter!!! lol I can buy a bag of the tilapia, and they are individually wrapped. Which is REALLY nice. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | My favorite way to prepare fish is to take some tin foil, spray it with Pam, layer some thinly sliced veggies (onion, zuchinni, mushrooms, summer squash) then put the fish (usually haddock, talapia or other mild white fish) on top, a little minced garlic, salt & pepper, lemon juice and a little dill weed (fresh is really nice), spray it again with Pam and seal it up in the foil. I then put it on the grill on low for about 12-15 minutes. It is easy, no dishes to clean (just throw out the foil) and so moist & yummy. I also like the marinade Very Yaki Terriyakki which is super low in sugar for salmon & chicken on the grill. Great with shrimp stir fry too, but I know you said you are allergic to shell fish. I love swordfish too, but I haven't had it post op yet. I just put garlic, salt & pepper and lemon juice on it and broil or grill it for 10 minutes per inch of thickness. Good luck. Try the fish! It's so light, lean and loaded with protein. Amy
