HI Jerry. My surgery is in September. I keep having these horrible thoughts that my coverage will change for some reason and I won't be able to have surgery.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Jerry how you doing today honey? Im so happy you get your long term disability benefits. I dont think no company has any reason to withhold them. I have to share a story with you if you dont mind.

We have a patient who worked for a furniture factory. She worked in the paint department. She ended up getting cancer of the vocal cords and larynx and had to have surgey along with countless radiation and chemo treamtents. She had to have a Trach put in. That is the little thing you see in peoples neck so they can breathe now and mostly talk with a small microphone.

Needless to say she cannot work anylonger at the job she was in. Our Dr disabled her for this reason. Her own employer that she pays disability benefits to for coverage are still denyiing her any money. Here in the United States you have to be permentaly disabled for at least 6 months before the goverment will pay you disablity. She got that at the 6 month mark. But the long term disablity policy and the short term disablity policy she has been paying for this entire time at her employers still will not pay her the money she is due. This has now been over 2 years. Here in the states the short term policy will allow you to be off work 6 months and they will pay you partial benefits. Then your Long term policy kicks in and will pay you until you return to work or for the rest of your life. The disablity im talking about our govement having is like retirment benefits here. They will only pay you a certian amount per month. Its not enough to live on unless you have bought another plan or saved money for your entire life. She has lost her house, moved in with her daughter, lost her car etc. Her daughters husband is helping her fight the employer still and bought her a new little car so she can go to Drs appoitments and move around still without feeling locked up and cant do anything.

She just came to see us recently and her tumor is back and bigger than ever.

So Jerry im so happy for you for getting what you rightly deserve. Keep the chin up and smile each day.

Awee Jerry. Im fine honey. Surgery is still a go for Sept 19th. Me and the hubby are going away for a few days before hand to a NASCAR oldies thing in Augusta Georgia and then off to his dads in Florida for a day. Then to my part of the vacation for a couple days on the beach in South Carolina or maybe even Georgia. I love the water. It brings me peace.

I start my knee injections tomorrow. My joint is almost caput in one. So they are doing the new Synvisc injections. What that is they take out the old Synoval fluid that lube my joint now and inject 7 days apart new fluid. So for 3 Mondays in a row Im not gonna be a happy camper. I have to have a driver and cant work for the rest of the day. If this helps its a every 6 months thing. If it works I will be blessed. Cross your fingers for me. Now see I can complain big time. LOL.

Surgery pre op is Sept 5th. They will do my lab work and X'rays. I have to stop the last 3 cigarettes I smoke a day now. Went down from almost 2 packs per day to 3 cigarettes a day so I think that was great and I didn't gain no weight. Im sure they will test me. The Surgeon says i have to be off them completely 1 month before hand to be able to heal properly. If I am one to trade addictions Im sure that will be what I go back to. I don't want to but if its a trade off Im sure that will be it. Im just being realistic.

I have found myself making Alot more fun of my weight now as it draws near. My husband really hates it to. I suppose that is how I express my emotions. I have been for a sleep test not ordered by my Surgeon but my family Dr because I complained I didn't sleep anymore. I will wake up sitting up in bed constantly all night long. I don't realize I do this until several minutes later. They suggested a study. Come to find out I have Severe Sleep Apena. I will be getting my machine soon I hope. I am educated in this area very well so Im actually looking forward to it. My husband sleeps with one and hes a new man since. Not nearly as tired or grouchy. Thinking back on things this is probably something everyone should have done at a certain age. I know I don't sleep nothing like I did 10 years ago. Its put a toll on me to.

I do come and post complaints sometimes. I don't know if you read the thread I started for you about the question you asked about plastic surgery or not.

Its not for plastic. Its a Greek term used to describe molding or recreating something in this case skin. So confusing I know. Alot of medical terms are.

Your day is coming Jerry. Soon. Sooner than you think. When you get the call about the day it will fly by.

Im so excited for myself. Im actually gonna take care of me for a change and I just cant wait.

Thank you for your friendship Jerry. There is nothing like a friendship to have. I hope you are doing well and come and post or email me anything you need to chat about something. I have a great ear to lend.

Default Me!! I'm with you!

Hi Jerry!
I have not had my surgery yet. I still have to meet the 6 mo Diet criteria for my surgery, but I am just 5 1/2 months from completing that now!! Just keep on doing your bestest & your day will come! I have not even had a real consult yet with my surgeon, I have just attended one informational meeting. I am sure I will have my first consult in Feb & then get my surgery scheduled!! Don't feel bad, maybe something will happen & your name will get moved forward. We will pray about it, God KNOWS when you need this!
Be Blessed my Friend!

Default I'm still here...

I've got a week to go -- I go in the morning of August 14th -- so yes, I'm still sitting on the bench, drinking my liquid breakfasts and lunches and all the liquids in between! So don't despair, you're not alone.
