well last weekend i was camping so on monday when i got a blistery
rash/itchy patch i didnt think much of it and figured i had
poison ivy........i am very allergic and the stuff grows and i was
in the swampy areas of the lake with my boys fishing last weekend.

WELL now im starting to think this is not poison ivy and i have SHINGLES.
So im off to the doctor when they open to get this figured out.
I will let you know ....maybe send some positive vibes out that
its just poison ivy but in reality the more i think about it its not driving
me nuts with itch more burning pain so thats why i have my diagnosis
switching.

Shingles... yuck. Hope you get good news.

If the itchy pain was there before the blisters, then it's most likely shingles.
There are good meds for that, so once the drs get to it, you should be feeling better soon.

Not rare, actually, and if you've never had chicken pox, first time, you'll get chicken pox. It's the second round and beyond that turns into shingles, due to incomplete immunity, and the lowering of defenses for some reason, like being physically stressed out, combating another illness, etc.
