Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi all, I haven't been here for quite a while - things get very hectic for me in the summer and we were remodeling so I was without my computer for a few months. Here's whats been happening since my last post. When I first had my procedure I felt like I never felt full or hungry even after I was able to eat all foods again. but lately things have been changing and I hope that it is normal. Now I can no longer eat steak which I really love. It doesn't make me sick it just won't go down no matter how much I chew it or how slow I eat or how good the cut of meat is. Everyone had told me that if I ate too much I would throw up - but oh no not me, if I eat too much it hurts but I can't throw up unless I force myself to and even then it is very difficult. I can eat some sugar and some fat but if I cross over the line even by a very little bit I get so sick but thankfully the sick feeling goes away in about 20 or 30 minutes. My biggest problem is (and I hope no one objects to me saying this here) is constipation! I have to mention it in the hope that someone has a good natural way to combat it. I do take stool softeners every night but they just don't seem to help. Okay now that that's out of the way let me say that I still feel that this is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. I now go to the Y 3 times and week and I actually look forward to it because I CAN exercise now and not feel like I am going to die. Every day is so much better than when I was 50 LBs heavier. I think that for me it's all the small things like finding that the gas cap release lever in my car really wasn't in the wrong place because all of a sudden I can reach it without opening the door. Finding that I can carry my 18 month old grandaughter upstairs without even thinking about it and without huffing and puffing. And clothes - yesterday I was folding the laundry and came across a new pair of pants that I had fogotten about and for a minute couldn't figure out how my daughters pants had gotten into my laundry. When I realized that they were mine I had to try them on because I couldn't believe that they would fit - But they did and that made me very happy. Well I could go on and on but I'll stop here and hopefully I'll keep in touch more often so I don't have so much to say all at once. Love and luck to all - Jan ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | welcome back! we dont get offended by cnstipation lol! we have talked about poopin, pukin, farting...whatever you need to talk about guaranteed there is someone here who has either gone thru it, or knows of someone who has, and thats what i LOVE about this board. now, in terms of that, what have you tried?? OTC meds?? upping you liquids? also, do you eat a lot of cheese? i find cheese to be the culprit with me from time to time but i havent tried anything over the counter just yet....sometimes drinking extra water helps me just fine |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi Jan good to see you back.Keyna is right on the cheese thing. That is a stopper for sure. You didnt say what kind of stool softner you were using. Let me give you the name of one that just got of the Rx list and went OTC. Its Miralax. I have taken this before after another surgery i had and it was Precription...... Now its OTC. You mix i with water or juice or even your protien shake. I promise it works well. It has no taste. im like yall I prefer a pill form but since it goes through so fast It wont do any good. So try the Miralax. And congrats on the WOW moment you had with the pants. Good to see you again |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hey Ms. Vicki and Becka with the Miralax......Should I be taking it at a certain time if I can get my hands on some of this. I too have issues. Not to be gross or whatever, but like Kenya says, we chat about it all on here. Last week and a few weeks before that, no joke I sat in the bathroom for over an hour. Its was not fun. I get so bound up. So obviously the stool softners are not cutting it. Im gonna check for this stuff your recommending. Im just wondeirng about when to take it since I work all day full time. Thanks ladies. |
