Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Today is EASTER and when faced with foods we really shouldn't eat... pasta, lasagna, stuffing or the desserts calling our name...try to focus on the three bite rule to get through the holiday. The First Bite is to get a good taste. The Second Bite is to verify it was as good as we thought it would be. The Third Bite is the LAST BITE, so savour it. I wish everyone a good EASTER and hope this three bite rule gets you thru any challenging moments today! I know for a fact my house is loaded with HOLIDAY chocolates!

| WLS Mentor | that's so cool friend, i've never heard it before, i have prepared myself not to overdo on food this holiday and to stay completely away from chocolate. Mom's making a roast beef so i'll be having horseradish on instead of all that yummy fatening gravy. have a good holiday

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | well tryin to offer my stratgies thru difficult ocasions. I made sure to make a nice fruit plate for dessert time, so while everyone is pigging out on cookies, cream puffs and cakes...i will be endulging in seedless watermelon, pineapple, canteloupe and strawberries. ENJOY! good stratigy the horseradish instead of gravy. HORSEradish is a diaredic which will be good to prevent water retention! TALK to u soon (HOLIDAY HUG)

| Super Moderator | Oh, I like roast beef better with horse radish, than with thick gravy. Here, it's also served with a light soy sauce based sauce and horse radish, rather than gravy. I can do it with just the horse radish, though.

Height: | Easter was hard for me even though it was just my hubby and kids around. I do admit that I snaked a taste of my son's egg salad even though I am not supposed to have it until technically tomorrow. Not having deviled eggs was the hardest part for me. If Easter had been at least a week later, then I would have enjoyed some more egg salad, but oh well. This sunday I plan of having a scrambled egg for breakfast and egg salad for lunch to make up for it. I am also looking forward to being able to eat mashed potatoes so that I can go out on an eating date with my hubby and indulge in TGIFriday's mashed potatoes with cheese. mmmmmm..... now my saliva glands are working overtime. Height: | Thanks Lisa, it is reassuring to know that your success hasn't been due to being purely perfect. I remember thinking before surgery, how on earth do some people cheat when they just underwent such a major surgery to meet their goal. Now actually facing the temptation I soooooo understand how and why people have setbacks. I think I am going through emotional withdrawals from food. I keep telling myself that once I have more weight loss and can start to eat more normally that things will not be so bleak, but just cuz you know beforehand that it will be hard doesn't make it any easier once you get there. I actually had a neighbor tell me, "Well, you knew what you were getting into before you did it, so why are you complaining?" It took all my powers of restraint not to deck him HARD. LOL. I do know what I signed up for, but until you actually go through it, it isn't the same. I am just grateful to have so many people to talk to that are encouraging like you. Thank you so much for being there. Janae |
