Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Thank you so much for sharing the link to that article!! I had to read it out loud to my husband--there were so many things that shed light on many things that were concerning us! Now I know why I feel fuller when I have chicken, than when I have a protein drink!! One important thing though--How much protein were you all told to have a day?? I was told 60 g. . Is that enough??

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | WELL i do fine every surgeons protein number is a bit different. I would say if your following your surgeons directions all should be fine. I know mine has me keeping it to 70 - 80 grams a day. GOOD LUCK!

| Super Moderator | The basic daily physical requirement of the average human body for protein is 30 -50 grams. Therefore, medical textbooks often reccomend a minimum intake of 60-75 grams daily to be on the safe side. The difference takes into account the amount of protein that will actually be absorbed into your system versus the amount included in your food intake. Most surgeons reccomend between 60-80 grams per day, but there are some that name numbers as high as 120 g. In any case, surgeons will instruct their patients according to basic and specific medical knowledge plus their experiences with their own patients, so it is best to follow the instruction of your surgeon, and not worry about the differences among various surgeons.
