Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Good Morning All, Well, I am up at 3am on a Saturday! I just couldnt stay in the bed any longer...my back is getting so sore. On a good note, I am finally getting in all of my protein! YEAH! I am still having a REAL problem with the water. I am getting round about 32-40 oz per day and that is pushing it. I was a real drinker before the surgery and now it is just so hard. I have found that I seem to get more in me if it is just plain water versus the crystal light...that too is starting to make me gag. I am almost two weeks out. I feel so bad complaining about the little things when poor Boots is going through all that she is. Now that I am going back to work, my husband is taking me out for a girly day today...I am getting my hair colored (needs it really bad) and my feet done. I had them done before surgery, but you know how that goes. All of the nurses were picking on me because my chart read: NO SOCKS (I know it's funny to hear, but I get really ansy when my toes are closed up) and they said I just wanted to show off my toes to everyone. HAHA. I can not say it enough about the hoptial and staff that I had...I don't remember too much about it, as I was out for 3 days because of the nausea meds. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kim are you drinking protein shakes or anything like that because if you are that counts towards your fluid intake. For me the 1st 2 weeks were the hardest it gets easier everyday I promise |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Hi Becka, No, I have not been able to do the shakes since the surgery. Anytime I get them up to my mouth, I start to gag from the smell. I use the Prostat 64 since it has 15 grams of protein in 1 oz. I just do 2 oz 2x's a day. I do 2-3 popsicles a day though which gives me approx 4-6 extra oz's. I hope that it does become easier to get it all in. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I know how you feel i'm 5 1/2 weeks now and find it very hard to drink. I find water so heavy when i'm drinking it. Infact i find it hard to drink anything really! I think at 2 weeks i found it a little easier than i do now, but thats me anything to be difficult! lol. I take painkillers before bed to help me sleep because my back and neck ache so much and if i lie on a side too long i get dead leg. I'm sure it will be all worth it in the end!

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I also have the backache going on. I can't sit or stand, or lay for that matter in any plac for too long. I have a 16.9 oz bottle and I know that I have to drink 4 a day in order to reach the 64oz mark. Man, that is so rough. I wish you luck with the best outcome though. Congratulations!! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Good Morning Kenya, Oh wow, I guess that I never thought of the soups counting towards the water. HMMM. Thanks. Maybe I am alot closer than I thought then. The back thing is getting on my nerves...I am doing fantastic on the whole surgical area. My incision that popped open is finally closed. My husband is in there making breakfast and it smells sooo good. I can not wiat to be able to eat scrambled eggs in 2 weeks...lets hope they like me! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I had a hard time espically in the begining getting in all my water. I still have a hard time today. Like said above ice pops and broth are a good way to get extra in. Just do your best, it is very important to avoid dehydration. Keep up the good work. LittleLisaMarie |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Kim: We really are all different. I'm with you though on water versus crystal light or any flavored waters. I just can't take them, though I have been able to get water down -- in fact its my favorite thing right now. But I'm different in that I can't stand popsicles or SF jello. The taste is so over the top for me that I can't take it. I have the same feeling with my multi vitamin but I know I have to take that. I'm leaning more toward "bland" tastes right now. I actually like the protein shakes. I've got ones that give me 35grams with each 11 oz shake, so that helps alot. That wonton broth Boots talked about sounds good, think I'll try that today. Sounds like you're going to have a good day today getting the hair done - enjoy every moment -- have a great day! Jill
