I lived in Ewa Beach for two years Becka but it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm too fair skinned for all that sun. so where do I end up? Texas hee hee. Hoping this isn't my final resting place either, to be honest.
Hugs,

I love the water at any beach. I wouldn't bake in the sun, but being able to look at the water would be wonderful.
We have little ponds here (called tanks) but it's just not he same.
Pennsylvania is my home state, but I've lived in Illinois, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, and now here.
I would LOVE to live in the northwest - that is my favorite part of the US!

I grew up on a farm in Texas and we had plenty of tanks..lol..use to go swimming in 'em when I was a teenager. Since graduating high school getting married and having kids (hubby joined the Army 2 years after we married) I have lived in Germany, Georgia and now here. Out of all of them I loved Germany the most. Hawaii isnt bad but where we live on Oahu it really isnt what you expect Paradise to be. I do love where I live now though right off the beach so thats a plus, for 2 years we lived in the center of the island and it rained all the time. When hubby gets back from Iraq in 2009 we will re-enlist for either Germany or Alaska I hope to get either one. Grew up in Texas not in a hurry to return. Maybe when Hubby retires from the military but not now

Cyndi, I don't think you could ever call me a Native Texan. I sound like a Yankee, although much less than I did 11 years ago when I came to Texas.
We live where my husband was born, which was a total culture shock for me (a city girl) at first. And there were a lot of other issues.
My husband and I met on the internet in 1996, and married later that same year. It's a miracle that it worked out - lots of rough going for a while.
I don't think I would choose to live here, although I wouldn't mind living near the Gulf (yes, I know, the hurricanes are harsh). I don't particularly care for living in the country, with very little access to the things that I love in a big city. I would probably love Dallas/Ft. Worth.
Becka, I want to thank you and your husband for the sacrifice you both have made and are making for this country. Whenever I see a military person, I always approach and show gratitude. My husband is retired Navy, a pilot.

Becka, sorry to hear that your hubby is leaving for training, it is always hard to say good bye for a tdy. I always hated those.
One time, not long after 9-11, I picked my hubby from the base and we went to get some mexican food at this little restaurant close to the base. He was dressed in his greens. When we walked into the restaurant, this little boy (he was probably around 5 years old) saw my hubby and saluted him. My hubby stopped walking, snapped to attention and saluted the little boy. I will never forget the look on that little boy's face. It is one of my favorite memories.
Anyway, Becka, we do appreciate his sacrifice and your sacrifice to keep us safe.
