Default Walk from Obesity

This is something we should all be a part of. If you haven't heard about it go to their website at The Walk from Obesity It is part of the ASBS Foundation:

In 1997, members of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, the largest society for this specialized branch of medicine in the world, formed the ASBS Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising funds to help support obesity research and to increase professional and public awareness of bariatric surgery and its role in treating the devastating disease of morbid obesity.

Currently, the ASBS Foundation is made up of volunteers and a minimal support staff at the national headquarters located in Gainesville, Florida.
The ASBS Foundation is serious about improving the lives of the morbidly obese by focusing on the following issues:
  • Increased funding of research specifically in morbid obesity
  • Increased public and professional education
They are holding one here in Charlotte on September 29th and I intend to walk in it. This is something (like Breast Cancer or Aids or Heart Disease) that we have suffered from and as members of this unique population, we know how important it is to get the message out that fat kills! I hope you find one in your area.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

They have one here in the next month or two, but it is the same week that I will be in Georgia for a family reunion.
