Default Question to the gastric vets and the doc

Has anyone here with gastric bypass gotten pregnant after the WLS? I am planning after I loose more weight, and i'm curious if it feels different, the hunger? do you continue loosing weight thru it. Do you feel down because of lack of proteins and vitamins? I still have not consulted with my nutritionist or the surgeon, I really want to be under 150lbs before getting pregnant. Any feedback?

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Most surgeons require that you not get pregnant for 18 months post op.
I know a few people whom have had healthy babies
after surgery.
all the best on your journey

Thanks to all. I havent consulted with the nutritionist and surgeon yet. I really want to be in a normal diet before doing this and be lighter (at least under 150). but I really don't want to wait a year. I'll see what the doctor says.

You may not want to wait a year, but it is best that you do, because your body composition will keep changing until your weight stabilizes, and becoming pregnant means that you need to get nutrition for two people instead of just yourself, and that is not going to be easy while the weight loss is still going on, and your body is still adjusting. For your body, it's own needs will come first, and the bady's needs second, and even if the effect isn't clear immediately, what may happen in the child's future, or your future for the matter, itsn't clear yet, when you become pregnant within 2 years post op. Your body MUST be truly healthy for the baby, so you MUST take care of your own body first.
Concentrate on yourself first, because that is the best gift you can give to your baby as a mother.

Most of you know that we adopted a child;you would not believe the number of people who have said to me, "I bet you'll get pregnant now after you lose all your weight." I know they mean well, but we had 10 years of infertility! Infertility due to both of us. Now, don't get me wrong, I will not be upset if it indeed happens, but I have just been amazed at how many people have said that to me.

You May Not Want To Wait A Year But What Is More Important Your Patience Or The Health Of You And Your Baby.

Trust Me I Want To Get Preg To And If It Were Up To Me I Would Do It Before A Year But I Think The Health Of My Baby Is More Important So I Will Wait The 18 Months Even Though I Dont Want To
