Default How often should you weigh yourself

Would it be better to weigh myself every week, every other week, every day.

I am the type of person that can get caught up in the minusia of losing weight. I lost 2lbs tuesday but only 1 lbs on wednesday, type of thing.

I worry that ckecking my weight too often may in the short term bring me down and keep me there if my results are not up to my expectation.

Maybe every other week. I should have a decent result that way. At least in this phase after WLS.

I was just curious as to what you that have been through this thought.

I like to manage expectations but don't want to get overwhelmed by them

Tony.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Tony,

I have heard many say that you should only do it once a month, but I naturally a curious person and HAVE to do it daily! I find that for me, it helps motivate me with walking and such so that I can see the difference! LOL. Anyway, good luck in whatever you decide to do.

Trust Me Dont Weight Your Self!!!!!!!! If You Can Avoid The Scale Then Do So. It Can Get Very Depressing When You Way Your Self As Often As Alot Of We Do, Even Though We Shouldnt. Try Once A Month Or If You Really Cant Try Once Every Other Wk. Trust Me It Will Make You Feel Better. Now I If I Can Only Follow These Words. Lol

I agree with the ladies. Once every two weeks or a month would be good. But I too cant seem to do that. I always say Im gonna try to wait and see then boom Im back on there. ITs easier said than done. But if you can hold back then wait and do it less often. Good luck.

You just got out of surgery. Kick out that scale out of your house, keep to the instructions of your surgeon, and DO NOT weigh yourself at home, just get weighed in at your follow ups at your surgeons for the next 3 months.
Keep track of your weight loss by keeping track with your clothes--they should be getting looser by now.

I'm hoping to be able to only weigh myself once a month. I just had an idea. I am even thinking about getting rid of my scales at home (and of course being strong enough not to run to Wal-mart to buy new ones) so I can try to only weigh in once a month. At least it's an idea.

I know what you mean. I'm just hoping I'm strong enough to do it. I also know me though. If I can actually see that's I'm losing, it helps me to stay focused and keeps me motivated.
