Thanks y'all. Today I went to the base and saw a friend of mine I havent seen since surgery. Its about a 30 min drive but it was worth it. I left all the kids at home and just went and visited with her for awhile. She invited the kids and I to go with her and her kids tomorrow to a fun fest our church is giving in another town. Her hubby has been in Iraq for 14 months now so she knows what I am dealing with. Her hubby comes home when mine leaves for Iraq. Anyways it was a nice day. Thanks again

Becka, There is a new show on TV on LIFETIME its called Army Wives. It just finished up for the season but its great. It shows what women like yourself go through when they lead the Army life and have spouses leave them on deployment. Its acutally quiet touching. Im sure it will do the reruns soon and I would suggest you watch it if you can. Now it dont have anything on Gastric Bypass on it but it might help you deal with the other part of your life your dealing with like Will's deployment. I to wish they could all come home and end it now. Check on base and see if they have a group starting up for the peoples familes that are being deployed. You will need it and so will your kids. Just like this board Becka when you come right down to it yall are the same when it comes to this part of your life. Take care. |

Vickie I watch that show too, I do have to say though I was disapointed that they showed most of the women cheated. Anywho. Will and I have decided that we will put our name on the housing list again and move back on base. I went to a function for my old church today and saw all my old friends and it made me miss them so much. I realise that I am going to need their support during the 15 months will is going to be gone so we will move back to Schofield when they get us a house. More then likely we'll get a new house too so thats a bonus. Anyways thats y'all for being here for me

Becca, I was on the other side - the soldier who deployed everywhere, and I want to tell you how much I respect the military wife. I was so shocked to see how the military families have to pack up and follow their spouse from country to country, to find housing in a strange place while usually dealing with a language barrier, putting the kids in anohter new school, decorating another new home, making new friends. It's just amazing how much burden you bear when you spouse is deployed, it's all on your shoulders. Military wives really are special people. |

Awee Becka hon I meant to leave that part out. Im sorry. I met my own hubby after he retired so I have no idea what your dealing with when hes gone. I had distance to deal with for 5 years but he was not put in harms way. I hope you didnt take offence to the show I suggested and the cheating part. But there trying to make it as real as they can I suppose. Im glad you probally will get a new house. They have come a long ways in building them now. I was telling Amy how I seen the base housing in Mayport its all cinderblock and sad looking. Im sure there may have been homes to but I didnt see that part. Hugs girl. Lean on eveyone you can. Vickie I didnt take offense at all that show is actualy my favorite show. As sad as it is to say there are plenty of cheaters in the military. The old house we lived on base had all cinder block walls too, actauly the house we lived in Georgia was like that too
