Hi, FemmeMode

I'm glad your doing so good. I go next week to get my surgery date. Reading everything helps me allot, and i really want you to do good. The Dr told me he wont have to open me he is going to make a bunch of hole's in my tummy, LOL I told him i will leak water when i drink.

He said i shouldnt have much pain, but he will make sure i have it under control.

I guess i should go out and get some powers and things to get ready. So keep us informed, and i hope you loose what you want to loose. I need to loose 130ish.

Later

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Becca, I hope that you are prepared for the possibility of an open surgery. There are some instances where a laproscopic surgery has to turn into an open surgery and even though that may not be what you want, it is usually done for the safety of the patient in mind and is better than certain risks. I hope that you don't have to have open, don't get me wrong, but I just want you to be aware. I was able to have laproscopic and the pain was pretty tough for the first bit, but I am sure that it would have helped if my morphine pump was working the first night/morning after. Good luck with everything, and I hope that this doesn't discourage you. Today is my four week mark and I have lost 31 lbs so far, so it is worth it.

Hi, Pillows
Thank you. I know i may have to go open, but he said it looks 89% he wont have to go open. But i know that can happen while i'm on the table. I have resurched this for 3 yrs now i have went to meetings and everything, but you can go do all that, like i did and read all this and that, and listen to everyone but you dont know how it is untill you go through that your self, so i'm hopeing that i will manage well. LOL! And you can get all the paper work, and print out everything but it changes everyday to every person, and new things are being experinced, new things are being done everyday, so what you read last month, 4 months ago or longer has already changed. So i'm here reading the post, getting some ideahs of everyday people, and waiting. I'm going crazy wondering this and that, i guess i'm worrying to much.

Thanks a bunch i will need you guys after more than ever.

Becca....
It's great that you are doing anything and everything to get yourself prepared. Mostlikely, you are right with the high probability that you will not have complications...it's good to know all the info.

Its also great to be prepared with food and supplies at your home for when you arrive home. This was sooo good for me and my hubby...all he had to do was serve the food/liquid to me....and it was very little stress.

Two AWESOME books that help you prepare and have "PRE-OP" sections... press the titles to link you to Amazon.com for more information on each book...I LOVE them both...I wish I could've had the first before my surgery.

Exodus from Obesity: The Guide to Long-Term Success After Weight Loss Surgery by Paula F. Peck

Before and After: Living and Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery by Susan Maria Leach

Please let us know when your surgery is...and also, you may consider posting it on this sites calendar.

Loved hearing from you Becca!!

Becca I want you to know that I don't think that you will have any complications as far as having to go open surgery, and it sounds like you will do well after surgery with coping. This website really is a good resource to go off of.
