Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass    |  I think I found it... This is going to be the thing that replaces food, or that use to express myself etc.... So i decided to re-string my viola today. For those of you who may not know, viola is very similar to a violin. It's held and played the same way but lower in tone and written in a different clef (language lol) I hadnt touched it in about 7 years. At that point I'd played for about 13 years....and now i cant seem to put it down.  I found some old sheet music and have been plugging away at it page my page ever since. my fingers are sore. So's my collarbone  that never happend before. I've always had natural "padding" there  I missed it so much. I didnt realize until I picked it up. I've been playing since I got home from work at 6.15p. it's now 10 pm. lol. may not seem like long but for someone who hasnt played in YEARS, 3 1/2 hours is FOREVER lol! And my daughter just sits and listens in amazement (she'd never seen an instrument in person before.) I've kind of kept her away from them because I was a string player and didnt want to influence her. I fgured that if music was something she wanted to "do" she had to find it herself. But today when i went to buy strings and rosin, I saw the cutest little violin and i bought it for her (shhhhhh) it's going to be a christmas present. then we can play recitals together  just thought i'd share. The picture of your daughter is cute, she looks so happy. I used to play flute years ago and i loved it. I had to sell it in High School. Just a year ago i bought myself one and i can only remember a few notes i would love to take lessons again. I love music, music is a big part of my life. It helps me through things, it brings up the past happy and sad. I just love music.Hope you keep playing!

| Super Moderator  | Wow, a viola. That's a very sweet instrument. And string players have such good ear for music and have absolute tone, I envy you! Your angel is too cute, too. Glad to hear you've rediscovered your long lost friend. Music will be such a constructive hobby. Just don't forget to drink/eat when the time comes to.  Our Crown Prince plays the viola, and he always plays in concerts of his U orchestra, you know. So, you are mates with royalty! You must record your music, and let us hear online. The "theme" of this board is "Amazing Grace", it is the fav song of CraigT (though he doesn't sing it, at least in public) and he's even named his dog Amazing Gracie. So, how about playing that some time when your fingers are all warmed up?
