| Super Moderator | I got sopping wet two days in a row when leaving from work. ![]() ![]() We have a typhoon heading for us right at this moment, as a matter of fact, the news just now announced that Tokyo is now within the storm zone Anywho. So, we have been having pre-storm weather for the last couple of days. It was still pretty much clear yesterday morning, but late in the afternoon, we started getting sporadic rain. Just as I stepped out of the door of the hospital to head for my car, it started pouring, with the wind up to boot, so despite my umbrella, I got wet below my knees. Added to that, I was wearing a wide flared skirt, that billowed in the wind and got soaking wet. Of course, my shoes were very squishy. Needless to say, the drive home was very uncomfortable, and I had to go home first to change, before heading out to the grocery store to shop for dinner. Since we were expecting worse weather today, I wore a straight knee length skirt to avoid a repeat performance from yesterday. The rainfall as I left the building today was still weak, so I thought I was in luck. No way ![]() ![]() Just as I rounded the building for the parking lot, the wind and rain suddenly picked up, and it was pouring in a snap!!! So, I get soaking wet again, and though I didn't have to sit on a wet butt, my lap and arms got soaking wet, and my shirt was damp. And squishy shoes again...UGH. I had some errands to run on the way home in the wet clothing and shoes...The wind and rain is very strong outside right now, and I am sitting here wondering what to wear tomorrow and how to keep dry when leaving for work... ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Be careful and stay alert. Driving in that kind of weather is not an easy task!! I agree with wearing rain gear. LOL and maybe some waders. LOL, wouldn't that be a sight. Have you walking into the hospital in waders and rain gear. At least it would get a good laugh. Good luck and be careful.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Oh Doc - please take care. I live in Washington State and it's not called the "Evergreen State" for nothing. Last fall/winter, we had rain for 6 consequetive weeks. BUT that's not typhoon stuff!

| Super Moderator | Actually, I love driving in the rain. There is something that is soothing to that water falling against the roof and glass, even in, or rather, even better in stormy weather... The hospital is almost at the top of a hill overlooking the surrounding area, heck, the name of the place even includes "Hill Top" so the water really runs from the higher end to the lower end of the parking lot, waders is no joke ![]() ![]() ![]() Thing is, I'm not sure where I have my rain gear stored, while we often get hit by typhoons -- this is the third one this season -- it's only once in a while that we really are in the direct line of the storm, and getting the brunt of it. Besides, with the storm winds, there seems to be no way avoiding getting soaked. ![]() ![]() ![]() I need to take a change of clothes with me tomorrow, once the storm passes, I expect we'll get hot and humid but clear weather, which, according to the forecast, is by the time I head for home. It just so happens that I drive against the rush hour traffic, not with, so I shouldn't have much trouble there, I only hope that the bridge I need to cross won't be closed off because of the wind. Looks like landfall is close... ![]()

| Super Moderator | Thanks for the well wishes, everyone. ![]() This isn't the first time I've driven in the middle of a typhoon, actually. I've had a couple of times on vacation, when the day we were coming home was the day a typhoon hit (and yup, I'm the family driver, not hubby I also drove in the middle of one to go see the Japan Open Tennis tournament (the center court has a roof that closes in bad weather) with my Dad in tow, because I had won a ticket to the courtside box seats in a raffle at my tennis school. One of my daughters spent a whole day the next year at the same tournament, also as another typhoon passed through, and came home after the worst had passed. Oh, and went to see a big fireworks show with friends after one had passed through only a few hours ago. So, you see, I'm a seasoned veteran, there. No way we can avoid it, so might as well make the best of it. Needless to say, I will be careful, though.
