Unhappy I feel rotten!

I had an endoscopy on the 7th of Sept. and everything seemed so good until last night. I was soooo sick and my body ached so bad. I had a little bit of pork roast and wow....it did not agree. I feel very discouraged because I have to go and have another endoscopy. Is this normal? I get a terrible pain in my tummy and chest. I also feel so depressed. It's been 3 months and I am proud of my weight loss (50 lbs) but I am tired of feeling exhausted and weak. I drink tons of water, walk at least 4 times a week so I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong. Is it me? Thanks everyone for letting me vent. Just one of those days I guess!!! Bonnie

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Hi Bonnie

Well Maybe Your Just Not Ready For The Pork Roast. Are Being Real Careful What You Eat And Take Little Bites And Eat Real Slow And Chew Chew Chew. It Could Be Possible You Formed A Stricture. I Myself Just Went Thru This.

As For Your Energy, Have You Told Your Doc? Have You Had Your Bloods Checked? Are You Sipping? You Body Is Still Recovering Also. Myabe Walking 4x Is A Bit To Much.

Doc Would Probable Be Able To Help You Out

Feel Better Soon Hun

By endoscopy, do you mean you had a stricture? It's almost a week since your scope, so if it wasn't stricture, then your blah probably has nothing to do with the scope itself. As for meat, you may find it trial and error, as it seems to be on and off all the time for up to a year out.
Your tiredness may be due to anemia, so if you haven't had blood labs done recently, it may be time for one. If your red blood cell counts are low, you will probably need to up both your iron and VB12. If you aren't getting VB12 shots, that may help.
Also, depression is quite common during the weight losing stage, so if you think you are having issues there, it may be best to get professional help.

Talk with your surgeon or your support PCP about your tiredness and depression, and see if you can get things checked, and get professional help if they think you should.

Bonnie I havint had this done yet but, somthign I found out yesterday from my surgeon made sense. He said if you dont eat enough and drink to much you will become sick to. That is why he never resorts back to giving fluids unless there just under 6 weeks out. The meat thing they say is hard to take a hold of at first but soon is tolerated. Perhpaps adding a snack instead of the drink your having and see if you feel better. You gotta think your eating like a bird to begin with. Your body needs fuel to not just water.

I am over a year out and still can't eat red meat. Sometimes I can eat hamburgers but not always. Can't do steak or anything thick. I can eat mongolian beef from chinese restaurants - who can figure! It's better for you anyway. I can eat chicken and pork if I chew really well. I wouldn't try meat for at least 4 - 6 months.

what about stewed meats? crock pot cooked meats? I do better with rotisserie myself. for me its all in how its cooked. i canoot do grilled anything (too dry) all of my meats have to be in a sauce or cooked in some sort of liquid. and some days i cant ever do that. even though you are a year out there is still a chance that something will sit right thathasnt before. keep trying

Every now and then I will try something. This week even hamburger helper was all bad. I used to love a good broiled steak but its been a year now and I barely remember what it tastes like! Have fun on your date. Kyle

Default Many Thanks

Thank you everyone for the good advice. I have tried meat in sauces, crock pot, cooking bags, but doesn't seem to make a difference so I guess I'll just have to wait this out. One problem I find myself doing is being so paranoid about eating except yogurt, soup, etc. and I am so sick of eating the same old thing. I feel really desperate at times cause I feel hungry. I know it will take time and I need to be patient. Just get discouraged cause they just did the EDG a week ago and I have been sick the last 3 days. Maybe the second will help alot more. Thanks again for the support from all of you...Bonnie
