To answer Kenyar's Q first.
Yes, these days, the total is around 15 lbs or so. Or, if you are bigger, and the baby around 8lbs or so, but even then, about twice the baby itself.
And yes, in the past it was around 30 lbs, but research has shown that these extra 15 lbs don't really do you any good nor do you or the baby really need 'em, it only serves in making the birthing harder (just like those extra lbs you are told to take off prior to weight loss surgery to make the job easier for the surgeon) and are only extra lbs that you have to make an effort to lop off later, so, the strictests obs these days say 15 lbs max. As a matter of fact, some 20 years ago, when my SIL gained 25lbs (now, granted, she is smaller than me, about 5' 2") she said she was warned by her ob not to gain any more, and try to lose a few if she could, as she was in her last trisemsester, and a few lbs off wouldn't harm the baby.

BOOTs, with C section, probably the same, 3-6 months, closer to 6 mo, maybe but I don't think you'll need a year.

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

You should see the dietary restrictions for preganancy for diabetic patients.
It's an additional 150-350 kcals per day depending on how far along you are. Doesn't sound much, does it? Yet it is the best for a healthy baby and healthy you.

There really is a misconception that more is better in regards to pregnancy, just as more food is better for health,
So, once you are ready for babies, be sure to find an ob who is familiar with the needs of bypass patients. I don't think it's too early for you to start looking for one now, as a matter of fact, if you want the best care.

I Was Diabetic During Pregnancy Where I Had To Do Insulin And Ended Up Losing 30 Lbs During My Pregnancy. Lol Meanwhile I Hear Its Harder To Lose Wt When You Do Insulin.

I Had To Be Strict With My Diet And I Never Had An Appetite.

a suggestion ---

START TAKING PICTURES AND DOCUMENTING THIS --N O W---

It can help towards any TT later down the road should you decide to or not.

I've been having a rough time with rashes (not from excess skin). What has been working..it was even up in my scalp!!! it's like the hives rash sorta but it burns and hurts like excema or shingles does..

someone suggested it and it has helped a lot! ---selsun blue medicated (w/menthol) I put a big blop of it in my washcloth and then add my shower gel and use it all over..plus on those areas I use the hydrocortisone cream with aloe which is working best for me in my collar bone area and neck to get rid of it! but it's a constant thing. I can't seem to get my FAT intake up enough to get my cholesterol better or to help my skin out of this 'funk'.

----I swear it works!---
man oh man though it cools you off LOL

Now that you mentioned that, I had a friend YEARS ago with eczema and she used the selsun blue on her skin. She swore by it....I had completely forgotten about that.

Back to the pregnancy weight gain. When I had my youngest, who is now 11, my OBGYN told me that I didnot need t gain any weight. And tat was when I was 160 pounds! I'm 5'8, so maybe I was a tad overweight, but frankly that is where I look good. I was so hurt. Boy, if he coud only see me now....wouldn't he be horrified!!LOL

Gold Bond powder works wonders. I had a rash on my upper thigh in the panty line area that I was sure was a yeast infection. I tried all kinds of stuff for yeast and couldn't get rid of it. It was driving me crazy, very uncomfortable. I was on vacation at the time and staying with my sister. After I got home I had some Gold Bond powder which was bought for my husband. I decided to give it a try and it cleared up in a couple of days. Whenever I hear rash I say Gold Bond powder!

I used to be on the Atkins Diet BB and there was a girl on there who was getting a rash under her breasts. She tried the Gold Bond and couldn't thank me enough.
