Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I dont know if this is a stupid quesiton or a wow moment, just talk, or what. sorry if im posting this in the wrong area lol. Ok so I have figured out a way to tuck it away my question is what do i do? i cant exactly avoid it because the skin is just there and i guess the constant rubbing against itself and or my clothing is irritating my skin. I honestly didnt think anything like this would happen to me because i didnt think i was heavy enough to have the skin hanging this bad or irritated this bad. im not too sure what to do. does this tighten up a bit further out? if i wear a girdle or something to lift it up will that alleviate the rubbing or make it worse? is it one of those things i will have to wait and see about? |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | It's a good thing in that the irritation and redness are great reasons for insurance to pay for a tummy tuck!! On the other hand, the redness can be accompanied by moisture and develop into a yeast infection, bringing a lovely little odor with it. Powders will help (with corn starch) but make sure you thoroughly clean the area first. The powder will help keep the area dry and create less chance for yeast or infection to congregate (them lil suckers LOVE damp warm places). You may want to check with the doctor too...they might have some suggestions! |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Ok go to the diaper isle and look at oitment or cream. Get a cheap brand and rub it on. It should help. If your go to the Drs anytime soon get them to document it. It is a making for insurance to pay for a TT. Dont let your skin break to much honey. Use the baby oitments to help with that or as they said cornstarch. Another thing that will help if your skin is breaking down to a sore spot is Milk of Magnieisia. Use a cotton ball on it and let it dry. It should clear it up. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I would ask Doc about the corn starch, I vaguely remember a thread where someone said not to use corn starch because of sugars and it feeding on them??? Maybe I am wrong. Yes, I just watched a show and they said that was a determining factor for the insurance co to pay for the tt...get pics and documentation! Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Doctor Doctor Doctor...........the more that is documented the easier to get insurance to pay for removal of the skin later as a medical reason. Take pictures of it if you cant get to the doc right away... LittleLisaMarie |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | thanks everybody. i have an appt with my pcp on wednesday so this will be a topic of discussion. i am not too keen on the tummy tuck thing but i dont like the idea of the possibiloty of stuff festering and what not. eeeew. i was nervous about using ointments only because i thought that might make it worse. right now its a bit itchy. im going to definitely talk to him about it though. |

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Yeah, that advice they have given you sounds like some good solid advice. I'm not too keen on the TT either, but we just never know how things will work out in the end. And I totally agree with the documentation part. It's called "CYA"!!!! lol (cover your azz) |
