I would suggest that you go and make a WRITTEN complaint against this man. I'm sure, if he has been charged with lewd behavior with a child before that he knows all the in/outs of the law regarding his personal proclivities. What he did falls under the charge of "handling" in some states and depending on the 'child's" age can be charged or not. DO NOT LET TIME GO BY...don't wait until MONDAY go NOW .. you should have called the police immediately and made a written complaint. unfortunately what often happens is people wait awhile and expect some sort of apology or something and that's not going to happen with this guy. Plus evidently the dad doesn't give a flip about his daughter's safety. MAKE A WRITTEN COMPLAINT

Thanks guys! I had the hardest time sleeping last night because of it! I talked to her several times on the phone yesterday. This so called dad hasnt seen his kids in over 15 years!!! He lost complete visitation rights and all with the the divorce, but now that the kids are older they wanted to "see who their dad was". And it didnt hurt that he apparently lavished them with gifts when they came over to visit him(which just started this year). Step dad has tried for years to get him to let him adopt the kids, but this is just something that he holds on to and dangles over their head! You know? I told my husband about it last night when he got home and he was just as upset as I was. I am sure that if my best friend (a very logical and respectful person) was not there, I would have been the one to go to jail yesterday. I am normally a respectful person myself and could not control myself yesterday! I told my bf to stand behind me in the initial conflict with them and keep her hand over my mouth...lololol. She just let me go though. You know how short people are...DYNAMITE! I made sure that the kids were nowhere near it! I had them locked in the vehcile with the ac running for what seemed like hours!! I just keep thinking of things that I could have, should have said to these complete morons!!! I talked to mom last night and she is taking both kids down for the restraining order since this guy knows where they live! And she promised that they would NEVER be going back over there. OMG...when "step mom" found out that she called us to come get her, SHE HAD HER PHONE CUT OFF IMMEDIATELY", because HER feelings were hurt! Are you kidding me??? You are really 38 years old????? And dad has known me for a long time and KNOWS that I just dont take thing lightly when it comes to those kids! He just sat there and didnt even blink as I was all in his face running my mouth...LOUDLY! SORRY SORRY Man! LOLOL, I asked him why he was just sitting there so quietly and not sitting there with his hands aroung this jerks neck. He is a complete IDIOT! And why was I the one who initiated the call to the police, completely AFTER THE FACT! I am still in shock over the fact that NOTHING was done by the police! I know that there is an age limit on these things, BUT 16 is still a "baby to me"! These kids are so beautiful and so sweet...I have basically raised them since the day they were born! My husband and I were talking last night and you let a friend come over and just "look" at our daughter in any way, and you are out the door with a few marks on you!! Anyways, thanks again for letting me vent and being there!

Thanks Breechick, We had the officers out there to meet us and get the complete complaint. We were told that since she was a minor and I was not her "legal guardian" that they couldnt do a thing about it and "suggested" that we go down to the court house Monday morning when they open to get the restraining order. Isnt that a complete shame?!?!?! So, my suggestion is going to also be to approach the States Atty office Monday as well and see if they would be willing to take some sort of action. I have a few friends that work for the sheriffs office here and nothing but respect for them, but I wa so appalled yesterday at how this turned out! They came RUNNING when they thought that it was sexual battery...but instantly turned cold to us when they realized that it was "nothing"! GRRRRRRR |

OMG Becka...you just sent chills up my spine! At 13, a child doesnt even begin to know who they are, let alone make decisions like that! And we have 18 year olds joing the military to serve and protect us and can't even be considered adult enough to have a beer after a long hard day! Go figure!

Kim a few years ago we took in my VERY troubled Niece, she met a soldier who was 18 and well needless to say she was sneaking out to meet him, she was 13.....anywho we called the police and they wouldnt do anything because she was 13, however hubby got ahold of the MP's and needless to say that kid was hating life for a LONG time

The age of consent maybe 13 but their partner still needs to be within a few years of age, and not an adult. If the police will not do anything, then contact CPS and report the father and the girl friend for putting the child in this type of dangerous situation. If you feel like the police were not doing their duty, then contact the FBI. They are the organization that takes complaints against law enforcement officials and investigates them. I can't believe they weren't more helpful to you. Don't care how much older she looks then she is, it is no excuse.
