So I decided that I would take a nice day of shopping with my best friend since I hadnt seen her since a week after the surgery. I got up this morning and did my mile on the treadmill and headed out by 8:30. We did manage to make it to one store and hit a sale and my cell phone rang, it was my 16 year old neice who was frantic! She was staying the weekend with her real dad and his girlfriend and the girlfriends best friend came over and to visit. Apparently this guy was was in trouble for lewd behavior with a child! He grabbed my neice by the hips and told her that he wanted her and all kinds of garbage! So, she went to a neighbors house and called me. I got there and talked to her and called the police. They came out and wouldnt do a thing! THey said that since he never really "touched her" that all they could do was advise her to go downtown Monday morning and get a restraining order against him. I was soooo pist off at this point that after the cops left, I got into a very heated "discussion" with her dad and his gf. The gf had the never to tell me that he is a nice guy and my niece looks alot older than she looked so she knew what would happen!!! OMG!!! I looked at her dad and said: this is your baby you moron and you are just going to sit there?? Anyway, I got in her face telling her that she was psycho and needed just as much help as the friend did. I packed the kids up and told them that they would never see them again if I had anything to do with it! Her mom was working and couldnt get out, so I had to take that duty. For the life of me, I can not believe that nothing could have been done about this guy per the police because she was not "Hurt"...YES SHE was!!! I am just so pist off still and wanted to vent to you guys! GRRRRRRRR    |

Oh Kim my heart goes out to your neice and you and your family. That is just so ridiculous that the cops do nothing but then they are so good about other petty stuff like speeding tickets and etc....Makes me mad reading your story. That's a scary thing, I sure hope her mom can make arrangements for keeping her safe from these kind of adults. Just because you're a parent doesn't mean you know the best. Kids deserve the best of protection from such creep peeps. Good for you that you looked out for her.

This one give me chills........the kind of chills you get when your so MAD !!!! First thing Im thankful she knew to call you when she is faced with a problem like this. I dont think her real dads household is fit for any of his kids to come visit acutally unless its supervised. If the Dad had any respect for his daughter he could have handled this fast. It dont matter the age he had no right to place his hands on her to begin with!!!!!!!!! The cops should have removed him from the place and let her press charges or atleast filed a restrainging order against him. Again im sooooo glad she felt she could call you up and get help.
