Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Cool Wow.....

My surgeon's office currently has 4 WLS patients with pending DUI charges. If you do drink....DON"T DRIVE!! This goes STRAIGHT into our intestines and right into our bloodstream!! I've actually had 1/2 a glass of wine since surgery...and I felt it RIGHT away.
WOW Kath....
That is WILD...and what a shame - about the DUI's! WOW! I sooooo agree with your plea, about not drinking and driving....
I felt the same...only in a 1/2 glass of my White cloud martini I felt it too! Had to stop there - too freaky!
I sooo appreciate your forthright - yet sooo sweet - nature of posting! You're incredible!

I personally don't want to spend the calories on this
I'm with you on the wasted calories...although, I really enjoyed the martini a few weeks ago...no harm - thank goodness!

I did get some of that NEW WHEY protein in the bullets & my first thought when I tasted it...IT WOULD BE GREAT MIXED WITH SOME RUM...kinda like taking shots at a club in those little test tube thingies...or jello shots!!
TOOO FUNNY!!! I've seen those test tube thingies in the movies...do they REALLY have those?? LOL!!

yanno...I gotta back track a little here....when we went camping last week, everyone was drinking 7 & 7's around the fireplace. Now, I've sworn off soft drinks completely, so I said.....I'll try a shot of Seagrams, right?

WOW.....that stuff went into my stomach and burned for like 3 minutes. I'm thinking..."this isn't like the wine." LOL I stood up and could BARELY walk. I felt it INSTANTLY, and the funny thing was, it only lasted for a short time.

I can see how people who have had this surgery might trade addictions. I'm a light drinker...never have been one to drink a lot, but WOW, that was a trip!

My surgeon told us no alchol for 6-8 months post op. There was also a lady in the support group who had two glasses of wine 3 months post op and had a GI bleed, her pouch was not healed enough...so please be careful.

The most difficult part about this is that even if you had no alcohol issues pre op, you can develop one post op.
Light alcohol drinks once in a long while at social occasions is fine.
If you start finding the buzz enjoyable, or if the drinks become stronger, larger and closer, please be careful.
Volunteering to be the designated driver is a graceful way of getting out of drinking if you are looking for an excuse not to drink.

Doc it's interesting that people who don't like to drink pre-op can have a "taste" for it post op. I'm one of the later. Sometime I actually crave a drink now when I never did before.Don't worry though.I don't really care for the feeling I get after having a drink.Very yuckkie after the buzz is gone.
