Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass |  Falling Apart Well if it isn't my teeth hurting it is something else!~ I can't seem to sleep at all! I only dozed for about 20 minutes last night and I am exhausted! This happens very often. Anyway, about 2 am I noticed that my main scar (where the stapler goes in and out and where my drain was), felt funny, almost soft. When ilooked at it it had like a blood blister look to it. It still has a pretty good sized lump there too which my surgeon said is scar tissue and will eventually get smaller and disappear. Well, I did some laundry and then laid down on the couch and dozed for my whole 20 minutes of sleep. I woke up and my gown was wet and had several spots of blood on it. So I cleaned it up and it drained probably a tablespoon more of blood and then stopped. It has a pinhole area that is open, but it is not dra  ining anymore. I hate to be paranoid but should I call my surgeon? I suppose better safe than sorry.

| Super Moderator  | Yes, call your surgeon, it most likely isn't anything really serious, but whenever in doubt, it's best to call your surgeon, espeically since you are not yet 2 months out. Better be safe than sorry, and taking care of you post op is one of your surgeon's jobs. (((((HUGS)))) I hope the scar clears up soon.

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass    | I had the same thing happen to my incision above my belly button and they had me put butterfly stitches above and below the pin hole for a week...just to make sure that it sealed and healed. I would definately call your surgeon though. As Doc said, better to be safe than sorry. |

In the end it was all fine but I called and they spoke with me and told me what to look for and etc...Good luck and hang in there girl!!!!!!
