I saw my surgeon yesterday, and asked him about the sleep problem. I keep waking up at midnight and again around 4 am every night and morning. He said it is common after surgery. He told me to take a benadryl and if that didn't work he would give a prescription for something else, but he preferred for me to try to work through it.

So I guess we are all in the same boat...LOL

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

I hate to admit but i have to take sleep meds from my family Dr. For the last 3 years i have had a bad time with insomnia so i am on sleeping pills. Benadryl did not work for me. It i dont take my meds i will only get about 2 hours of sleep a night and never feel tired.

That Ambien scares me! I know people that have done all sorts of things while taking it and never even knew it. YIKES! I think that I will stick with the Benadryl tongue tabs when I need them. LOLOL I am a light weight with meds!

ambien is not for everyone.
I have a close friend on the stuff
and she had to stop it...
one it becomes a tad bit addicting...
and then if you get woke in your sleep
for phone calls or maybe a child...you cant
seem to wake up or black out the entire happening.
FOR me with 3 kids thats just not an option to not
function thru a night. NEVER know if one will take
ill.

SO the meds arent for all
i fear them actually a bit.
hugs and i hope they work for u

I have been presribed Clonapen for restless leg syndrom. If I can't sleep one of those does the trick but I don't use them often. I don't want to get addicted. I wish I had some of the liquid Vicodan, that stuff was great. I know why people get hooked on it.

Hello Kenya, I really hate taking any kind of meds so please check with your Dr first. I don't have that problem yet but I have a friend who had WLS about 3 yrs ago and she's been having problem with anemia and that was causing her to not sleep. In her case she was very low and had to have transfussions but she tells me that now she sleeps ok. Maybe since we are not receiving the same proteins and vitamins as before it affects different things in our body. When you see your Dr, ask if being low on proteins and iron can cause the sleep to decrease.
