Just thought I would share my recent experience with my life insurance. I have had it for may years now. Just recently my ins guy called and we were chit chatting, wherein I told him about my WLS. WELL, found out that because of my weight loss and all the medical conditions that I no longer have, I qualify for a rate reduction!

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Thanks For The Info We Have Always Had Insurance Policies For My Husband Thru Work And Our Own But We Never Got A Policy On Me Because Of The Diabetes, Chlosteral, Weight, Etc So The Rates Were High. But That Is One Of The First Things We Want To Do Is Get A Policy On Me Once My Weight Is Really Low. So I Guess They Dont Care That You Had The Wls Thats Not An Issue Or A Problem? Thats One Thing I Was Afraid Of But Now Im Feel Better Nowing Its Not An Issue.

That's wonderful. I hadn't thought about that, but not too long ago, I met with my life ins. agent to buy more ins. coverage on me. They denied me a higher amount of coverage due to my weight, so maybe after this surgery, I can get back with him about a lower rate AND more insurance.

It's my understanding that this applies to gastric bypass patients seeking health insurance, not life insurance.
