Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | Well I was in the hospital for abdominal pain about 2 weeks ago they did a bunch of test and nothing came back abnormal so my surgen sent me home with loratab and told me if i did not feel better to see him in a week or so. well i felt better so i canceld well. Yesterday i had to spend 6 hours in the care takeing my husband to get teeth removed and when i got home the pain was back. I took loratab last night woke up the pain is still there i feel like i have done a bunch of situps. I called the surgen and he thinks its something musculer and is putting me on a muscle relaxer to see if i am better by monday. My middle back has also been bothering me so i dont know if that is part this or not so i will have to see if the muscle relaxer helps or not. Other then that i feel like my surgen has no clue whats rong with me actuly no one know whats rong and i feel like they dont even care this pain does not bother me if i am sitting still or laying still its only when i try to get up and down and move to fast I also have been getting dizzy alot what the heck is going on im trying to stay positive everyday and just forget about it thats why i have not posted to much on it but now im getting a bit stressed out about it. ![]()

Weight Loss Method Roux en Y Gastric Bypass | I to was having alot of abdominal pain and I think that I finally figured out I was taking ibuprofin and was not supposed to but also I was having a lot of muscle pain in my mid section. I still get some pain and it makes me nervous which in turn causes my dizziness. I do suffer from an anxiety and panic disorder so I am sure that is what is causing me to be dizzy. I hope that helps a little.

| Super Moderator | For one thing, since Ashely has been hospitalized for a few days and run a battery of tests, I would expect that it would inculde abdominal echogram which would reveal GB stones for sure. They must have pretty much exhausted the reasons you get abdominal pain, as in from the abdominal organs. That would throw the stone to the orthopedic surgeon next. When you carry a lot of weight, you are putting a lot of strain on your back, whether you have back pain or not. If you didn't have pain before, then, you were lucky in that area. Now, the thick layer of fat would have helped in propping up a weak back, so you may not have noticed anything was off. As you lose weight, you lose the fat that helped prop your back up, and your back and abdominal muscles aren'r strong enough yet to prop your back up on their own. As a result, your muscles are under strain and you get pain. You may need to have your spines checked out by MRI to make sure that you don't have degenrative bone disease, or that the spine disks aren't displaced, which also cause pain. Even if the pain isn't in the back, since the nerve comes out from between the vertebral (spine) bones and goes from the back to the front, you can get pain anywhere along that route, not necessarily just the back. One more thing to take into consideration. If the pain turns into a burning/itching sort of pain, it may be the first symptoms of shingles. If you develop a rash or break out along the area that you have the pain, that's pretty much a clincher that it is shingles. There have been a number of post ops getting shingles, this can happen because your immune system can be somewhat compromised at this point, because your body is putting healing from the surgery first, and losing weight from the lack of intake second. If you notice this, go to the dr ASAP, doesn't have to be the surgeon, your PCP is fine, as there are some good meds that can quickly limit the spread. As for your dizziness. 1) How was your blood cell count? Even if didn't have anemia, if the counts were on the low end of normal, then anemia could have developed now. 2) What is your blood pressure now? Were you taking BP meds pre op? If you were, how much are you taking now, the same as, or in a reduced dose? Even if on a reducded dose, the time may have come now to get off it all together, so be sure that your blood pressure isn't too low. 3) The decrease of fat in your tummy means that the pressure the large artery and vein that runs along the middle back of your abdominal cavity is subjected to less pressure than before. So, your blood vessels have more space to dilate/spread which will cause a drop in pressure as well.
