Default Ambien Debate

Hello. I know that many of you are against the use of ambien to help them sleep. I have been desperate and went to my pcp. He highly recomended something to help me sleep. Because the benadryl no longer really works well for me he suggested the ambien at a low dose. Told me that there was a chance of the side effects mentioned but not for the majority of people who use it. So i told him after discussing other options as well to give me the lowest dose. I took one the day before yesturday and it knocked me right out however i woke early and got maybe 3-4 hours of straight sleep. Not very helpful. So last night i was again very stressed and wired and took two of them. I slept like a baby and woke this morning feeling revived. While it is not for everyone, and i will only use it when my husband is home {in case the kiddies wake and need something} and only on the weekends because i dont want to be totally dependant on it i will use it when i need a good night sleep. That is just my opinion and i respect that of everyone else who dont like it or is afraid to take it. But in order for me to get my thoughts together properly with my life siutitations i need a good nights sleep to help me through.

Anyway hope your all doing well.
My son lost his football game last night {sux} but he played awsome.

Love ya

Alt Weight Loss Surgery Insurance
Yes, you can often get insurance cover for your Weight Loss Surgery.
Our own Craig "Big-T" Thompson has been there and done that, and he's written an e-book about it.

Lisa,
Just be very careful and make sure that you get the recommended amount of sleep, because it is when you get woke up, that you MAY do things out of the ordinary. LOLOL, my mom called me one night about midnight requesting a fax of an EOB from her insurance carrier! HAHAHA
I hope that it really helps you to get that extra sleep you need.

Lisa I Also Used To Use Them Pre-op But Only If I Was Having A Bad Night Which Was Maybe 2 Or 3 Times A Month If That. Some Months I Didnt Use Them At All. They Are Not As Strong As Sleeping Pills And Thats Why I Felt Safe With Them. I Never Woke Up In The Morning Feel Groggy. Like You Said I Always Felt Good In The Morning. Just Be Careful Hun.

Im All For Ambien If Its A Last Resort

I know how the great night of sleep felt. I also take a 1/2 ambien at night. Be sure everyone in your house knows not to wake you if you take it. I found that no matter how much sleep 1 hour or 8 hours once I wake from it that's it. Bam I'm awake! You do what's best for you and have a great night sleep. Take care Tina

Lisa we are all different and this site is to enlighten each other and inform each other. What effects one might not effect another. Like Doc said you know you best. I am so happy you have gotten the sleep you needed, more power to you. Tell your son there is another game and we will be routing for him.

Lisa I also take the ambien for sleep - I took it before surgery - the thing I notice with it now is that it works a lot faster than it did but it doesn't last as long. I use to get 6 good hrs of sleep I now get 4 and have sometimes taken another 1/2 pill to get a few more.

They gave me Ambien when my mom died last year. It shuts your brain down, as I'm the one who lays down, and while my body is resting, my mind is on smoking fire. This medication helped to shut everything out. I never did anything out of the ordinary, and I always woke right up...no hangover of any kind. I didn't take it all the time...just the nights when I had 8 hours to commit to it, and when I was really struggling.
