 |  I need your prayers
Hi everyone,
I'm in need (actually my daughter is in need) of your prayers. She is 16 and going through a hard time with skipping school, failing several classes, lying to me and her father etc. I even had to go to Walmart today and buy a home drug test which was enough to truly upset me. She has gone from honor roll to failing in a matter of a few weeks. I just hope I've caught this in time. We took away her car, cell phone, and making her quit her job because that is where her friends are that she is skipping school with. Maybe when she gets her grades back up and earns some of our trust back she can go back to work.
Right now she hates me and thinks i'm so mean. I know what I'm doing is right but its hard to be the mean one u know?
So if you all could just say a little prayer that I'm catching this thing soon and I can get her turned around I would appreciate it.
Oh and she thinks she is old enough to drop out of school. We told her that is not an option for her. That her job is full time school and passing grades!!!

From the mother of 2 teenagers, I feel your pain sweetie....We always hope we are doing the best for them...like I told my daughter just the other day (she's 13, my son is 18)..."I adore being your friend, but I'm your MOM first." She wasn't too happy with that, but I know inside, she knows I only want what's best for her.
I have chatted with G and we prayed that you & your daughter find peace. Keep the faith and keep loving her; this too shall pass!

Being the strong one with kids can be so difficult. It sounds like you are getting a handle on everything with her. She may be mad now, but she will thank you later. Hang in there. We are praying for your family.
My son went off the deep end at 19 right after his father passed away. It was so difficult to be the firm and strong one with him. I had to hold my line though and he turned around and is now going to seminary to be a youth minister. So things can and do work out.
